The Official Photography Thread - Vol. 3

Do it! I love the 135L! One of my favorite prime lenses and fairly affordable compared to most L lenses.

I second that. Great lens for the price. It's just a very specific lens as all long lenses are but I've had nothing but good experiences with that lens. Better than the 100mm L for sure.

There are two 5d mkii for $700 a piece local too. So tempting as a back up to my 6d, but I don't need one right now. When I do need one in 3 months I may bite my self for not jumping at these deals.

Is anyone is this thread using strobes? If so, which ones?
I have been researching a few for a while now and I am leaning toward the profoto D1's or the B1's. I heard a lot of mixed reviewed about AlienBees and the cheap Newer strobe setups.

Thanks fellas. I will probably cop AB800s and some huge modifiers and save the extra money I was gonna drop on a profoto set.

I'm headed out to Joshua Tree National Park to (try) to take pictures of the Milky Way. Anyone in the SoCal area down to roll with lmk. Leaving Saturday around 4ish or so then coming back that night. Interested ? Send me an email [email protected].

Man I needed to take some more time off to shoot in pr.

M8 picture but I decided to bring my 5DII + 24-105L.

Be editing some when I get back.

Tuesday night again and more poetry photos this week I decided to utilize my I SO instead of using my flash. Wil likely continue to do so until I get another external flash

came across this site when i looking for info on astrophotography, you may already know most of this, the exposure calculator (in the 2nd link) might be useful as a shortcut /starting point for how to setup your camera:

Had a shoot this morning and the sun chewed me up and spit me out!!! I would say it was moreso because I didn't have help on this shoot to position my light exactly how i wanted it. I also focus and recompose, and that ruined some of my pics as my DOF was to shallow for it.

grizzlyboy grizzlyboy bjamez20 bjamez20 thanks
I forgot my cam could handle 1250 ISO. I'm really enjoying my wireless trigger, such a great tool for review of shots taken and selectively downloading pics to my phone or tablet
