Packers agreed to terms with S Anthony Smith on an undisclosed contract.
Smith will back up starters Nick Collins and Atari Bigby, both of whom are slated to hit unrestricted free agency after next season. Smith has starter level talent and experience, but he's also been a bit of a headcase. He will be reunited with new Packers safeties coach Darren Perry.
Bengals sign QB O'Sullivan as backup for Palmer
CINCINNATI (AP)-The Cincinnati Bengals have signed quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan to back up injured quarterback Carson Palmer.
The Bengals didn't release terms of the contract Friday. They are counting on Palmer's return from an elbow injury last season, but needed a backup after Ryan Fitzpatrick left for Buffalo as a free agent.
The 29-year-old O'Sullivan started the first eight games for San Francisco last season. He also spent time with New Orleans, where he was picked in the sixth round of the 2002 draft.
O'Sullivan has played 14 career games, completing 57.3 percent of his passes for 1,826 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 13 interceptions.

Deputies Say Bucs' Hayes Stabbed By Girlfriend
By JOSH POLTILOVE | The Tampa Tribune
The girlfriend of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Geno Hayes stabbed him in the head with a pair of scissors and in the neck with a knife, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Hayes was taken to a hospital by a friend, and he was treated and released, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Deputies arrested 19-year-old Shevelle Bagley at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Carter said.
Bagley was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The incident began with an argument Saturday, and Bagley grabbed a pair of scissors, stabbing Hayes and causing a superficial wound to Hayes' head, Carter said. Hayes got the scissors away from Bagley.
Then Bagley "grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the neck," Carter said.
Bagley's bail was set at $25,000. She has since been released.
Hayes, 21, was a sixth-round pick by Tampa Bay in the 2008 NFL Draft. The former Florida State University player made eight tackles last season for the Bucs.
She tried to murder that man.
