The Official Black Mirror Thread: Season 6 on Netflix Now

I mean that was the only witness, she killed everybody else that would have had a connection, otherwise the police wouldn't have shown up to that recital. Killing the baby and lil homie ended up being blind was OD though.

okay, if we're working under the assumption that cops automatically equal jail, no judge no jury--which is a valid line of logic for the story--then yeah, she went down for sure.

I just wonder if the gerbil's psychic testimony would hold up in court if that isn't the case. still, for the sake of story simplicity you're probably right.

Metalhead was kinda whatever...I wouldn't have been mad if I caught it as a little cable sci-fi movie but you can't follow Hang the DJ with that.

My short analysis of hang the dj

it seems that the device isn't really necessary. It takes you through the same plight and turmoil that the average person deals with in relationships. Although it says it's 'processing' or whatever, that's the same thing humans do after they move on. She had several rebound relationships after he 'cheated'. That was kinda the hole in the plot imo. As close as they were, he could've gotten her to look at it together.

Kinda weirded me out that he was right about the entire thing being a simulation then they go on to match on the tinder thing.

Gotta avoid this thread bc I won't be able to watch all the episodes until next week or so.

it's more targeted, more focused...the same way you could look through an encyclopedia for hours to find your answer or just google it.

it's not necessarily the right way, but I can see the appeal. plus, you do know for sure when you know, which is nice.

I just wanna say...

Don't.

I thought dude was just gonna walk away when it expired. Had to pay himself one last time.
She was a total b... Zero redeeming qualities.

Ok so I have 7 minutes left of Hang the DJ.

The 4 skips, no less no more says this is a simulation.
Rubbish.
We shall see.
Well, fitting

I want to watch Black Museum and then finish off my watch with USS but, this is the first Season I've watched out of order, and I still feel the need to watch the Final episode last, so I will.

Onto USS

I think this may be my favorite Season.
METALHEAD still up top by a long shot.
Visuals and especially Sound stood out something serious.
Clinical.
Perfection it was.

Saw Arkangel, didn't like it, fruckouttahere Jodie Foster. Crocodile was nuts, shouts to guinea pigs. About to start Hang The DJ, John from Peaky Blinders is in this one.

startin episode 3 now, seems like they borrowed a lot from the christmas episode (favorite episode of this show) for the first one and the 2nd one had a combo of "the history of you"(timeline view) and that part in the christmas episode when he was censored at the end.

 Does it bug anyone else at how many American actors are in this show now? I thought it was dope seeing Hayley Atwell, Domhall Gleeson, and ole boy from "Get Out" before they blew up and liked the vibe of that first season. I thought it was a huge deal when they got Jon Hamm, and that he'd be the only rare mainstream actor I ever saw on the show.
Now it seems even parred with american and British actors, not sure how I feel about it.

Time to get that Wraith Babes collection:evil:

was a little surprised by the amount of americans/ppl i recognized this season but it was dope to see landry/todd & ray tatum from FNL and mcpoyle from sunny on black mirror

aaron paul’s voice at the end of uss callister was dope too

I thought USS Callister was dope. Only episode I've watched so far. 1 thing that bugged me was

Todd could do anything in the game, he was god. Able to magically change things and make people warp places, except when they flew the ship away from him? All the sudden he couldn't warp, he couldn't make them warp, he couldn't turn the ship into anything and was bound to the same laws everybody else was? I don't get that part. Small gripe, but yeah I enjoyed it. Was the temple chip thing the exact same technology from that haunted house big spider episode?

Looking forward to the end of the season reading about all the Easter eggs from past episodes. I love how everything keeps popping up and a lot of things exist in the same universe. Sorta Tarentino-esque with a touch of Marvel.

I think my least favorite of this season(so far) was Hang the DJ, show is masterful when the endings are like crocodile(fave of this season) since I thought that was the point of the show. I get it though, my wife was ready to turn in after crocodile because she couldn't take it anymore, watched Hang the DJ so she could sleep peacefully

They gotta start putting warnings somewhere around these heartstring tugging *** episodes, man. Was not expecting that from Hang The DJ. Might be top 3 for me.

I thought it was something in the code that he can only do certain things...

I maybe wrong.

On USS Callister:

Was that after she swapped the temple chip thingy? Could that have changed his privileges?

I love how the tone of each episode is so different. Makes me want to go back and rewatch USS Callister already just to cleanse my palette. Everything after that felt so much heavier for some reason.

Up to the finale, debating on starting it and finishing the season.:frown:

Sidenote: I think that was Aaron Paul ‘King of the Universe’ at the end of the episode. Dope little Easter egg, wish he would have called them *****.

Just finished callister episode. Very nice. Damn budget has gone up on this show. :lo

Todd Landry gained mad weight. I was wondering that question too.

Holy Hit! @Crocodile!
Jesus man! Y'all can't tell me that wasn't disturbing AF.
Shorty was not giving up that life.
Fell into the dark abyss, to be undone by a Gerbil in the end! Yo man. Bra fricking vo!

that is what is so wild about that episode! shorty end up doing ALOT for a little...she couldn't see no way past that???

i'd break down my issues of each ep like this:

uss callister
·the new chic comes up with a plan, that fails & results in one of them being turned into a monster, and they're like sure lets do that again?
·why would bizarro matt damon just be like, "sure i know you just got here, was desperate to leave, and this is my fantasy game, but lets go ahead and do what you want to do" because why???
·meanwhile in the real world, the new plan requires ol' girl to be a master home invasion specialist/thief and her misdirection plan is to order a pizza??? which actually works?!?!?
·this is more a technicality, but i didn't understand why his world gets contaminated by the update leaving him stuck, i suppose it was because of his ship going into the wormhole? it would have been really interesting to have him and the girl come back into work...

arkangel
·the only minor problem i had, and it is irrelevant to the story, for this one was when moms finds out about the drugs, i feel like she would have had to reveal she had been using the device...i would think a parent that finds out their kid doing a hard drug like cocaine would at least talk to the kid about it?
·i almost wish they would have continued this episode a couple more minutes with moms fixing/getting a new arkangel device and stalking her daughter's life

crocodile
·why throw dude into the lake??? why didn't they just hop back in the car and be out, they were basically in the middle of nowhere...
·she decides pretty abruptly that homeboy has to go, when you'd think a person as accomplished as her could come up with other solutions, she didn't do the initial crime?
·that type upscale hotel would have had some type surveillance for her to bump into, no?
·our (peripheral) vision doesn't work like that at all...
·having just merc'd her old friend and dealing with that, would she really want to speak with anyone/the random insurance person? or admit she saw anything that night?
·normal person becoming a mass murderer, it isn't as if there are some clues that she is somehow unhinged in any way, but maybe i missed something?

hang the dj
·i thought this was a decent watch, though i just thought the reveal of it didn't really hit for me
·not sure i even understand what happened? are they in a simulation? was it like an app? are they aware of what took place at the end?

metalhead
·even though the black & white is executed well, i wasn't feeling it
·why does she stop her car when she sees the van crash knowing they're being chased?
·once she removes the tracker, why does she use the radio? she wasn't even communicating essential info tho?
·the robot tracks her by blood? but it is never shown that she is bleeding in such a way that she would leave a trail??? but maybe the black & white obscured this?
· why doesn't the robot try to put another tracker on her when she is up in the tree?
·did she know it was solar powered? once she realizes it's out of juice, why why not bury or try to destroy it then?
·when she blinds it with the paint & distracts it, why didn't she shoot it then?

black museum
·episode was super corny, she turns up the heat to make dude thirsty?
·all the little vignette memories were even more corny...
·none of the tech in the vignettes was in any way feasible or believable to me
·the revenge reveal was cool, but then the payoff is blunted because she burns the place down? doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the perpetual suffering of the museum owner?

could be i came in this season with too much expectation but it, for me, just wasn't on point...none of season 4 is as good as the worst of any of seasons 2 or 3 to me, and i think i enjoyed watching season 1 more

Yeah that bugged me too, but I figured since it's just a copy of the original game with a different skin he didn't customize every aspect.

As far as "Crocodile"...

My guess with the damage to the windshield, they would be prime suspects of hitting this guy. All it would take is one person finding the body on the road and calling the cops. The show is big on covering your tracks.

The insurance chick sort of told her that she could be forced legally to cooperate but it would take more time.

I think she became a mass murderer because of the circumstances. Black Mirror is a show about how technology is supposed to make our lives easier but oftentimes makes things worse. She killed people because of this memory technology. In our world, the insurance woman probably would have never known about the architect if not for the creepy dentist and the recaller machine.
