Nuggets Tried To Deal For Gray
Jan 24, 2010 11:41 AM EST
The Nuggets tried to deal for Chicago center Aaron Gray, but the deal fell through. Gray is averaging 2.3 points per game and makes around $1 million
Glad to see the Pax-man is hard at work with the deadline approaching.

Doubt it if the Bulls keep up the way they have been playing as of late.
Marc Stein: Just filed to ESPN: Hornets are trading Devin Brown for Aaron Gray. Deal will be official later Monday. Twitter.com
The New Orleans Hornets have reached terms on a trade that will send guard Devin Brown to the Chicago Bulls for reserve big man Aaron Gray, according to NBA front-office sources. The trade, barring an unforeseen snag, is expected to be formally approved by the league office later Monday. The Hornets nearly traded Brown to Minnesota in hopes of reducing their luxury-tax bill in December, but the deal could not satisfy salary-cap requirements unless Brown agreed to waive a portion of the trade kicker in his contract. Brown declined. This deal would net only a small luxury-tax benefit for the Hornets but bring them an extra big man for their bench. Brown has started 37 games for New Orleans this season, but the Hornets want to give more minutes to rookie Marcus Thornton and decided they needed the extra size. ESPN.com
Marc Stein: Hornets need extra big and wanted Gray for their bench. Bulls need another shooter so wanted Brown, who had lost PT to rook Marcus Thornton. Twitter.com
Marc Stein: Hornets still need one more trade to get under tax threshold. Tax benefit of swapping Devin Brown for Gray is only savings of roughly $100K. Twitter.com
Marc Stein: Hornets still roughly $425,000 over tax line. Getting under gets you nearly $5 million. All non-tax teams collect such a check in the summer. Twitter.com
Marc Stein: Word out for some time that Bulls hoped to find shooter on an expiring deal. Not easy to find. Brown's a guy who's had some big games for NO. Twitter.com

I doubt he gets any burn time I just wanted to know if he was at least a decent big man. He will be the only person over 7 ft for the Hornets.Originally Posted by therenegade23
