I'd say 2 years. I'm hearing we could see him at the end of next year but I think 2019 is more realistic.

Who do you guys want to see get traded? I say deal Yonder, Lowrie, Doolittle, and Madson if someone wants him. Deal or cut Casilla and Axford. I would trade Sonny if the return is nice, otherwise hold on to him. Ideally we find a lead-off hitter who can play CF.

What are you guys thoughts on a lineup like this next year? Leadoff/CF is the biggest whole but there are still a lot of questions. Can Olson hit in the 2 hole? Can Pinder play everyday? I'd like another lefty in the lineup also. Need a couple of veterans on the bench.

Rotation: Sonny Gray (trade if you can get a CF), Sean Manaea, Kendall Graveman, Jharrel Cotton, Andrew Triggs/Jesse Hahn

If you trade Gray, who takes over the 1 spot? That's mainly why I'd hold on to him unless you get a nice return.

I think we should go after Lorenzo Cain. He fill the cf need but not the lead off.

I like Cain but he's in his 30s and I think he'll command 4 years at least. If we could land him for 3-4 years in the $10-12 mil per year range I'd go for it. Not sure if that's enough or if management will even pursue that.

I think we came out pretty well on that deal. There's talk about the injuries to Kaprelian and Fowler making it a poor pay out for us, but it's the Kaprelian injury that I think should be of real concern. Fowler I expect would bounce back and be very important to a 2020+ A's roster that's playing in a new stadium.

Horrible Yonder trade. I know we probably weren't going to sign him but that return was trash. Waited way too long to pull the trigger.

Might as well hold onto him and try to sign him for cheap if that was the best return available. I get it opens the door for Olson but still don't agree with it.

It will be the Laney site, near downtown and Lake Merritt. Mattier and Ross of the SF Chronicle were the first to report this.

They actually talked about that in the article. Dave Kaval says they have a hard time selling tickets at that site. I think you look at most other ballparks and they are a lot closer to downtown metropolitan areas.

Yes, it's too bad this wasn't something that could have been figured out ten years ago. Back then Mark was all for building on the Coliseum site, but he wasn't the decision maker and the A's were wasting time trying to make Fremont/San Jose happen.

I agree that a downtown location is better but I grew up close to the coliseum. So I just wanted it to not change location.

Yeah I hear you. But what frustrates me the most is MD saying he didn't want to wait for the A's, but then you hear interviews from Kaval saying he tried reaching out to the Raiders to have open discussions about how they can make it work and they never cared to communicate.

Instead MD sells out. Expects to sell a high percentage of tickets to opposing fans and high rollers from casinos, and somehow expects people to fly in regularly to LV. Seriously, if they have bad seasons I don't know how you prevent a Levi's stadium 2.0 from happening.

i love the fact that the A's are staying "rooted in Oakland" but it's gonna be a sad day when all the OG Chinatown residents in the renaissance plaza and living above store fronts get kicked out because of skyrocketing rent
