The problem with Dana White is the same problem with Conor McGregor.
They both have so much money, that they no longer care how stupid they look.
They both look extremely stupid to anyone who’s even remotely discerning and/or objective.

And why can’t fighter of the year factor in someone rolling off the couch and getting a KO on short notice? These guys are just prisoners of the moment. Not to take away anything from Topuria, but folks conveniently forget that Volk fought him 3 months after getting head kicked by Islam.

I like Topuria and think he is likeable
he pays homage to the legends before him and hasn't crossed the line with the trash talk.
Its the fight game, I think he sells the fights well
Yes he is following the McGregor blueprint, but how many have TRIED and FAILED?

“When somebody shows you who they are, believe them.” Dana White.
“It’s hard to bring this guy to Las Vegas for any reason,” White told reporters on Friday after the UFC 266 ceremonial weigh-ins. “This city is not good for Jon Jones. And here we are again.”
“It’s like it’s not even shocking anymore,” White said. “When we bring him here, it’s almost expected. Can’t even get him into Las Vegas for less than 12 hours to induct him into the Hall of Fame. It’s a problem. This guy’s got a lot of demons, man – a lot of demons.”
At the UFC 260 post-fight press conference, White said: “If I’m Jon Jones and I’m at home watching this fight, I start moving to 185lbs.”
When asked if that fight was a possibility, White replied: “Listen, I could sit here all day and tell you, what ‘Show me the money means’. You can say you want to fight someone, but do you really want to?”
At the UFC 247 Post Press Conference, White said: “My kids are terrorizing me, ‘saying the fix is in and how can this happen, Dad? Reyes won that fight’. Going into the last round, I had Dominick Reyes 3-1.”

Also, no one seems to know 100% whether Khamzhat can travel outside of some European/Russian and Middle Eastern countries. For all we know he could get a visa/entry into another country for a fight.

Interesting topic he brought up was Till situation when he fought at MSG and he was having visa issues the week of the fight. Dana called Trump and everything was handled in 24 hours. Pretty much if Trump wins presidency all these khamzat travel issue rumors go away.

Quantity versus quality. No one has ever knocked out Max before. And Ilia knocked out two of the greatest featherweights in the same calendar year. #2 and #3 featherweights.
I think there’s a good argument for both. Alex saved cards, took fights on short notice and fought hurt.
But no one has said if he truly has VISA issues just that if 45 is elected into office, it’s easier to get these fighters into the country.
What really has changed since Sept 2022? The Russian invasion of Ukraine began early that year. His relationship with Kadyrov (sp) isn’t new. He’s got Swedish and UAE citizenship.
