Conor definitely got into Aldo's head

"We talked about a possible fine during the tour, but it is too expensive, and I couldn’t afford getting fined," Aldo said in a press conference in his gym on Tuesday.

"That was an issue because I couldn’t do what I wanted to do. But the fight is around the corner now so we can do something more because nobody will do anything about it. It there’s any trash talk, I know what I’m going to do.

"I already have in my mind what I’m going to do, but it’s a secret," the champion continued. "It’s going to be a different Aldo. There’s no fine or suspension anymore. After everything they spent, they won’t cancel this fight for anything. I’m sure he will come after me, but I guarantee it’s going to be different this time."

Asked about McGregor’s pre-fight trash talk, Aldo said he would love to brawl with "The Notorious" on fight week.

"It would be great if there’s a brawl. I hope that happens. That’s what people want," he said. "I’m paid to beat people up so, if that happens, it would be wonderful. I hope I can beat him up. The fun is over, it’s going to be for good now. After this staredown, he will give up doing anything he was planning to do. You will see."

Weidman making his prediction...

Speaking with FOX Sports, the UFC middleweight champion is not only picking No. 1 featherweight contender Conor McGregor to beat Jose Aldo atUFC 189, he's picking the Irishman to stop the champ early.

"I love Aldo," said Weidman. "I'm a big fan of Aldo but I think McGregor's winning the fight. I think [McGregor] finishes him, TKO. End of the second round.

"It's crazy. Trust me, I know the world's going to end if he wins the fight. Everybody wants to see [McGregor] lose, besides the UFC. I think he's just so big for the weight. Very athletic, big and confident. I think those are his biggest attributes."

I want Aldo to wreck him but the size issue is definitely a factor. Just look at dudes like Jones Weidman and Rockhold. When you combine a dude being big for the weight class with skill and athleticism it's always a tough thing to deal with. They're all beatable but you gotta really be on point to do it. I think Aldo is capable of doing it, but he has to be on point.

And also we've never seen McGregor against the top level so it's still unknown how he'll handle that. Definitely gonna be interesting. I still say Aldo pulls it out but McGregor is dangerous.

Been saying Conor gonna give Aldo a run for his money. This thread may end if Aldo is KO'd

seems like everyone wants him to lose and thinks he will get destroyed

I got my money on the Notorious one. UFC needs to do a few of those miniseries with their other up and coming stars. He seems like a pretty interesting fellow. I find myself rooting for him now.

What are your guys' thoughts on Raging Al vs El Nino? I think Al might get the upset over Melendez

I like Gil.

I'm just not sure I've ever been as sold on him as others seemed to be.

Especially when they were claiming he was the #1 LW in the world during his Strikeforce days. Thompson have him 3 TOUGH fights.

I could see Al getting that W.

It's weird, I had always thought Gil was overrated, and I thought Thomson beat him in their last fight

However, I believe Gil might have beat Benson, he was doing GREAT against Pettis IMO before he got caught (he was controlling him) and I think he definitely beat Eddie Alvarez

I believe he will take care of Al though even on short notice. I thought Al's last fight was controversial to say the least

These decisions are dangerous

I've seen Al gain more momentum in his fights (except against Masvidal) and Gil sort of plateaued ever since the Bendo fight. He looked great against a sloppy Diego Sanchez, but still ended up getting dropped.

Just my opinion but I thought both Melendez and Alvarez were a little overrated when they were in Strikeforce/Bellator. I thought that Thomson beat Melendez in their 3rd fight and then when Coker tried making a 4th fight, Gil wanted no part of it. And I still think that Chandler beat Alvarez during their last fight. During the 5th round, everyone on Twitter that was watching it and all the analysts were saying Eddie needed a finish cause Chandler was up 3-1. Alvarez got the decision and Dana gave his two cents then all of a sudden, everyone's opinion suddenly flipped and Alvarez clearly won.

I think that Melendez should handle Al but he better not try coasting after the 1st round cause Al could pull out a decision or catch him with something.

Masvidal is a TOUGH fighter to look good against.

Calculated counter striker.

I thought Jorge won that fight but I think Al's fight with Gil will be much different.

I don't think Eddie is top tier at all, just my opinion. I think Chandler beat him too

Nothing about Eddie has impressed me for a while

Man I always thought Gil was nasty, I don't think he was overrated at all. Pettis did catch him, and Josh Thompson gave him problems, but anybody could get caught, and at his peak Josh Thompson was nice, another underrated lightweight that got back to the ufc after his peak I think. And stylewise, I think Gil woulda gave Dos Anjos a waaaaaay tougher fight than Pettis. I actually still wouldn't mind seeing it, that "loss" to Eddie Alvarez really set him back on getting back to a title shot though.

That's why this Al vs Gil fight is so intriguing to me. I don't really pay attention to rankings, but for UFC sake this fight could bring Al (ranked # 13) into the top 10 if he wins beats Melendez (ranked #5). I think Lightweight will become the most interesting division as we enter this 2nd half of 2015, especially with Porrier joining the rankings.

july 11th needs to get here

That's my 30th birthday. aldo beating the dog ish out of that irish fella would be awesome.

Reading some articles, damn, Werdum should probably be considered one of the best HW's ever. Looking at his resume and his performances... I can't argue that at all

Beating Fedor and velasquez are really great to have on the resumé. cain was stupid not to spend more time training in Mexico. Probably thought his normal cardio routine would be enough to overcome the elevation difference.

You guys thought thompson won the third fight with gil? I don't remember if it was their second or third fight where thompson kept getting dropped. thomson doesn't have heavy hands so he couldn't hurt gil with punches while gil kept rocking his jaw.

Thought this was pretty cool. Saw rocking Jordan's at a few weigh ins, wasn't aware she was a full blown sneakerhead

Just rewatched the third fight, it's out there. Thomson didn't get dropped at all, it must have been their second fight

Overall, Gilbert had more takedowns and outstruck Thomson. Gilbert however did nothing with those takedowns and Gil's face looked WRECKED. The crowd hated the split decision

If I had to call it, it's at least a draw.. if I had to pick a winner I'd go with Thomson due to dominating the last two rounds and having a razor close 1st and 3rd round. Thomson did so much more with his takedowns while Gil did nothing with his

Round 1: Shamrock called it a draw, however Gil did score a takedown which Thomson got right back up

Round 2: Gil's round for sure, outstruck Thomson decisively

Round 3: Anybody's round

Round 4: Thomson DOMINATED. Had Gilbert in major trouble with a rear naked attempt, have no idea how Gil escaped. Thomson had the triangle locked tight

Round 5: Thomson DOMINATED again, outstruck Gilbert decisively and took him down for some GnP

So they only film her in front of the Reebok wall and picking up Reebok kicks; BUT at home she's got all Nikes, she's seen wearing Jordans, and on the MMA hour she only talks about Nikes. UFC is really trying to push this Reebok partnership.

They have to push it, they're getting paid by them and going to do the fighter uniforms.
