The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Eh, honestly I don't buy it. Vetorri would be a very great win, his best win of his career probably. He didn't look all that great against Gastelum and Wonderboy probably beat him and Till missed weight. I'm not giving that man credit for a loss over Holland's wins

If Holland beats a resurgent Brunson, plus Souza and Buckley and a lowkey nice win over Hernandez. That's better than Till's case

Swear Till gets way too much credit for what he's actually accomplished lol
Not disagreeing with you on Till. Ive said I don't see him as a top contender. But I pretty much feel the same about Holland too.

Honestly all this is just fun convo and will be a moot point cause I see Brunson and Vettori getting Ws. So hopefully Rob gets that next shot after he sleeps Costa.

I remember a couple years back there was some company the UFC hired that was designing a new glove that was going to prevent eye pokes, I believe Joe Rogan talked about it on his podcast one time. The one draw back was it would be a disadvantage for wrestlers and they were trying to find a way around that . I wonder what happened with that

Plz. In that moment hes not thinkin he lost his eye. Ive been ubforrunate enough to be around many eye injuries. Its jus what happens. Ive seen 260 lbs men run out of the gym hysterical over a deep eye poke. Ususally jus a corneal abrasion.

I saw a kid get hit with a baseball once and his orbital shatter and his eye litterally pop out of the socket and hafta be held in with pressure... he didnt hoot n hollar.

If he was in genuine shock from a bad injury he woulda reacted differently. Id bet a good hunk of change worst case hes sportin a patch for a few days. Thats what i hope at least

Man.... Wtf...like what are the chances? I feel for both these guys man.

I had my write up ready on Leon showing theirs levels to this. Man looked crisp on the feet. Saw more stance switching then he's done before. Man's striking speed is still A1, best of the weight class easily. He would've gotten Belal out of there by the next round.

That ending just blew my night would've been happy for either guy winning and getting their respect. But damn I was really hoping Leon would get that title shot.

Just make Colby fight Leon, come on man
After that Colby and Jorge are staying far away from Leon. They don't want that problem. Leon looked in even better shape and a bit bigger than before.

Only see Burns taking that fight. He'd give Leon the most problems out the 3 cause his power and JJ. I still think Leon is the 2nd best WW in the division and got the best chance against Usman.

UFC needs to collab with Whitman already and use them damn gloves. Stop trynna strong arm the man. A lot of gyms already use them. That's 2 big main events that ended with serious eye injuries where the fighter couldn't see or open their eyes man.

Jorge I can understand because the champ seems to really want to fight him again

Colby don't have nothin in the works it appears, Dana needs to force him to take that Leon match

I wouldn't be mad at a Burns Leon fight but I kinda don't like how Burns is coming off a pretty convincing L albeit to the champ

Wonderboy v Edwards?

Belal will be fine.

Run leon vs colby since he didnt get the dub he needed

He's avoiding the toughest matchup in the division. Colby is going to do what he did when they tried to force him against Woodley to unify. Man's got stripped then passed over by Usman, then took a fight with a washed Robbie. Hell wait til Usman is actually booked then probably take a Wonderboy or Chiesa fight.

Naw Belal needs to get that checked by multiple specialists. Eye ain't **** to play with. The things that Bisping said he felt with his eye is almost similar to mines. I didn't even get kicked in the head. Got a real bad eye poke playing basketball, thought I'd get over it after a couple days of rest. Long story short ended up with glaucoma, had to get 2 surgeries and lost 40% of vision in my left eye. Haven't played ball again since. Belal needs to treat that as best he can

How so??? If anything thouggbreak for Belal ... ya something else. He did the poking.

Freak accident. Could tell It wasn't intentional, wasnt the fingers but the thumb that digged down. A feinted punch and Belal walking into it the exact same time.

i started to wear eye protection. not taking anymore chances after getting poked

i remember reading how Pride style gloves were better at preventing eye pokes
however, grappling would be hindered

I'm just saying he hasnt fought over a year & the verge of a title fight.
