THE LEBRON 13 THREAD *Elites released**Command Force 6/11/16

These don't actually look that bad. The problem is they'll want 220 for it. The materials are also in question

This is 100% correct.

The LeBron 9 is the "hypebeast" model of the line.  People who didn't mess with Brons came out for the hyped up 9's, then left again when the X's dropped.  Same ones that ignored all 8's except for SB's, and only after the "thrist" for the SB's developed.  No one wanted them when they first dropped.

Yup, same dudes ignored the greatness off the 8v1's and just wanted to cash out a year later with the SB's. They settled for the garbage 9 Miami vice when they struck out :rollin lord the 9's were stiff trash

Same thing happen with the kd's. After the nerf and weathermen drop people started jumping on the line looking for the next big cash out. Silly boys bought up everything they could including the wort bball shoe of all the kd v's :lol
Not till the kd vi did they learn it wasn't gonna happen again

I have a feeling the material is a lot like the Jordan XX9 which is IMO outstanding performance material.

Each year more people seem to not like them because of looks and colors when the number one purpose of the shoe is performance.

I like em from what I can see, and with the tech, will probably be very springy and responsive with the fitted flex that the 11 and 12, seemed to lack. The plate looks more functional like the Jordan flight plate too.

I will most likely have more 13s, than 12s (1 standard NSRL and 2 lows).

Box should say "this is a basketball shoe - we make lifestyle and ext for you NT denim"

Heads definitely wanted the SouthBeach 8s when they first dropped, they sold out online, few sizes were scattered around in stores. Resell wasn't that crazy for them to begin with, 250 was the norm. When Pharalle wore them, that's when all the beast hopped on board and they went trough the roof resell wise. All the other 8a were easy to get and most went on sale outside of entourages and Christmas. It was disappointing that they only dropped so few colors especially V1 wise. The 9 is definitely the model wear the casual hipster started to wear Lebrons. You would think the 7 would've brought the most hype but even Red carpets ,CTKs, Akrons and other releases were available months after they released granted some were only HOH only and there were only 3 back then.

Number 1 purpose is looks and colors. Nike is tryna sell sneakers. If that's the case they can save a lot of money making one solid color and be done with it.

The basketball sneaker for basketball only is a tired argument. Who wears runners only for running or trainers only for training? Only people who do that is allowed to spew that opinion. If you don't then your a hypocrite.

Huh, I don't like these. Every year they come out with something too bulky. And these, these are just plain ugly. I don't know, Nike was hitting their stride with the 10s and 11s. I was disgusted with the 12s extreme bulkiness and now the 13s I have mixed feelings. I especially don't like the midsole, looks straight out of some lame Iverson shoe to be honest. I was really hoping to see something like the new KDs this year, very air max inspired type sneaker. I was excited to the see the first few pictures of LeBron in the 13s posting up and stuff, but now that I see them in detail......:x. O well, might pickup the KDs this year.

I didn't say looks was irrelevant, just NOT priority 1. Look at how many people rock hyperdunks in the NBA - but never see people rockin em casually.

If you really think Nike starts their design with a color pallet and a model in jeans you're a fool.

I am by no means a "only wear em to ball" type, but I also have "basketball" shoes and shoes I can wear both on and off court.

But I guarantee when lebron works with his designer for his performance needs, he does't say "but how do they look in jeans".

***** with that mentality. Hypebeast statement if there ever was one.

They build the shoe for basketball. I've never played organized ball though. So looks have always been the priority. NikeTalk was created by the collectors not basketball players. The lines outside of sneakers stores every weekend is because of looks. Jordan retro success isn't because folks wanna ball in them.

Your not the type of person I describe in my previous statement, however the designs of these sneakers are just as important to today's consumer. If performance was 1st for the consumer then UA would be cranking more then they already do. They make quality products.

I always ask the performance guys to show me the UA collection.

And I will say that I have not worn a pair of UA but have a couple friends that say they are superior on court to most nike...and all other brands.

I understand the need for consumer appeal, my only regular 12s we're balled in once and became an addition to the casual line because they were much heavier and had less flex and grip than the xx9s I balled in most of this past year.

And yes, if it was more appealing casually (12s) may have considered more. But my first thought on almost all basketball shoes released is "wonder how they are on court".

Usually cop a pair, run a couple times and then categorize them. And I do buy retros...but don't ball in em simply because of the much more superior tech in more modern shoes.

To each his own...

But color doesn't come first in my book.

They look like the penny V nobody wanted with a Kobe X type sole and different swoosh placement

No, 8-10 was the "era of the hypebeast." It started steadily declining at the 11's. A good majority of them went to outlets.
Outlets doesn't mean anything. 9s and 10s went to outlets as well. Heck, Retros go to outlets.

Eh they'll come out with some crazy print or theme and people will start jumping aboard ship with these. Same thing happened with the 12s.

8-11 was undefeated. The 12's were decent to me, but not enough to cop a pair. Jury is out on these 13's still.
