"The Last Dance" Michael Jordan & Chicago Bulls Docuseries

Fantastic offering this evening, especially concerning Jordan’s politics, or lack of social awareness. Admittedly, he only saw himself as an athlete, and I am glad that Obama, and the Black journalists addressed it as they did. Jordan failed in that regard, yet allowed himself to be dragged into gambling accusations instead. Interesting choices.

jordan had no obligation to do that. he said it in the documentary that he wasnt going to endorse somebody he didnt even know. he was focused on his craft, his brand and left the politics to the politicians. thats a pro move.

Pro move? So I guess Ali was an amateur.

now why u gotta put words in my mouth? i never said ali was this or that. what ali did that was his prerogative. its too easy to sit here and say what ppl should and shouldn't do instead of living your own life and letting people do them.
Not while Black people were and still are catching hell you don’t. Not when kids were getting killed over what you endorsed either. There was an obligation, and he dropped the ball in that regard. Great player, one with a gambling addition. He chose to be vulnerable that way, not in the way of social justice. Cool.

wrong...the only obligation you have in life is to live the life the way you want to live. he dont owe nothing to nobody just because he a successful prominent black man.

Fox news would be very proud of this response. Bravo . Good thing Jackie Robinson, Ali, Bill Russell, and many other prominent Black men did not feel this way. I mean if it were not for them? Jordan would have never had the chance he had. Nice of you to suggest that closing the door behind him, was a right. Shut up and dribble indeed.

😂 a fade-away requires athleticism and core strength to do it properly tho unlike launching 3s. A lot of these fade-aways are going to be air balls or their **** is getting swatted.

Glad they addressed these topics, as well. I've primarily known Jordan as the greatest player and marketer in NBA history and as the player who once said, at the height of his fame, "Republicans buy sneakers too" because he didn't want to alienate any of his fans or Nike's customers. I grew up hating Jordan and the Bulls teams during the 1990s--I still hate them but love the sneakers--and may be the only person who still owns his copies of "The Jordan Rules" and "Michael and Me: Our Gambling Addiction."

Doesn't seem like you need to know much to take a side when one of the candidates in that race was a raging segregationist.

I have never hated Jordan, not for any reason. Disappointed? Yes.

I'm really enjoying this series. One thing I continue to find striking is how disappointingly soft the game has become compared to how some teams played in the 80s and 90s. I hope this is just a phase the league is going through and we'll someday return to a more physical game that brings more action back inside the three-point line.

Btw, I am so glad that we can see who reps the anti Black stance here, every, single, chance, that they can.
