"The Last Dance" Michael Jordan & Chicago Bulls Docuseries

end of the day MJ getting paid before and more than anyone. MJ was the best, knew it, everyone knew it. Back then people weren't taking pay cuts especially with the way they were getting paid

Something to to remember here...

Scottie signed a six year deal in 87 with the ability to gain an extension after his third season. By the time his fourth year came around he wanted to sign that extension because he was the sole provider for his family and he was deathly afraid of getting hurt and missing out on that higher paying opportunity. When he signed that deal in 91 he wasn't the Scottie that we know today - he was a guy that was immensely talented but at that point in his career he was best known for having to sit out game 7 against the Pistons because of migraine headaches. Pippen signed a five year, $18 million dollar deal that at the time, made him the 16th highest paid player in the league. That was a pretty fair deal considering he wasn't even an all star yet. Where he got screwed was the fact that by signing that deal it didn't remove the remaining two years that he had on his original deal. So in reality that five year deal was actually a seven year deal and the $18 million was spread out over eight years.

The Bulls simply took advantage of both Pippen and the weak salary cap that existed at the time.

Great start to the doc last night. Scottie was definitely underpaid at the time but he did get his share after leaving Chicago so can't feel too bad for him. Being so young when the Bulls went on this run I never really understood the rift between Krause and the players.

If someone in the NBA today came in and won 7 championships in a row...never going to a game 7...

would you consider that man to be better than Jordan?

Yeah lets not have a pity party for Scottie here...as far as total NBA salary earnings he actually ended up making more than Jordan did.
If anyone has the right to be biter about being underpaid it should be Michael. He was criminally underpaid by the Bulls for the majority of his career.

Starting the doc now. Crazy to hear that Krause became resentful to MJ because of their popularity.

Wtf, man.

It's a hair splitting conversation.

I think it's totally reasonable to think, Jordan is the goat or Lebron is the goat.

What I don't understand is why some Jordan fans find it so totally crazy to think Lebron is sliiiiiiightly better.

and the other thing that never gets mentioned is your GOAT choice should change based on the rule set.

Like if it's 1950's rules.

no 3 point line, small key, strict palming/carrying rules.

doesn't either, Russel, Wilt, Kareem, or Shaq have to be the GOAT?

I honestly try to stay away from those types of conversations. Don't see the point of comparing folks of different eras/generations.

Not trying to be a jerk but that has always been my stance.
I asked a simple question. I value your opinion sir

This is why I’ve moved to a tier based system when ranking athletes
