"The Last Dance" Michael Jordan & Chicago Bulls Docuseries

I also don’t understand the concept of the last dance. Why did they feel the NEED to blow up a dynasty with players still in their prime? Why not run it back as long as possible?

If you tell me who do you want for 82 games + playoffs, who's going to deliver the most value, with modern rules

I think it's pretty safe given Lebron penchant for flip switching the answer will be Jordan.

but if you ask me who do you want for a playoff run, or for 7 game i think I may go Lebron.

Krause made some terrible moves after the Jordan era. What was the thinking getting rid of Brand? He averaged 20 and 10 his first two seasons.

To be fair MJ had one of those long and low contracts too before that, none of them expected that crazy increase in the league value.

Jordan should have been given a piece of the team after retirement, he shouldn't have had to go to Washington.

Imagine how much he was making for Reinsdorf over those 13 years.

Bron was never clutch when it mattered in the finals like Kobe. Son was hiding and passing the ball instead of taking the ball and putting the team on his back

Pippen been taking Ls

"One of the notable money mistakes that Pippen made was the purchase of a $4 million Gulfstream jet in 2002. Due to a missed inspection, the jet's engine needed $1 million worth of repairs shortly after the purchase. Rather than paying that, the jet was grounded, making it the world's most expensive paper weight. Pippen sued his attorney for the missed inspection and Monday was awarded a settlement of $2 million. "

That one boggled my mind. I swore that Clipper team was about to take off once they got Brand in 01.

I remember the Bulls had a bunch of cap space in 2000 when Tim Duncan, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill and Eddie Jones were all free agents. I remember some of those names were rumored to go to the Bulls that offseason. Ultimately the Bulls failed to land anyone. I wonder if Jerry Krauses negative reputation played any part in the big name free agents at that time avoiding the Bulls.

I think that's a little bit of a misnomer. He makes the right basketball play.

Just like Mike did passing to a Kerr or even to a BJ or Paxon. Mike didn't take every shot either.

I just think with Lebron he doesn't necessarily want to go to the line with the game on the line, so he'd rather take the jumper instead of trying for the James Harden in the final seconds.

Seems like Krause thought he could do that by replacing the coach and players.

Starting ep. 2 now, crazy how he signed that long-term contract.

You know how conditioned them boys had to be to play in Boston Garden with no A/C during the spring & summer? Sheesh...

They were on their last legs. Dennis Rodman by the end of that run was coming off the bench most games. However I would have let them play until the wheels fell off like Boston did with their Big 3.

Bulls reputation post Dynasty plus the cold weather. They treated Jordan and Pippen poorly, they likely would have done the same to next crop of players.

I wonder if they'll go into Mike almost becoming a Clipper, and his requests to management for UNC guys .

As a GM, your job is to manage and Continue the success of the franchise. in this case, a lot of the team was getting up there in years so Krause wanted to get something in trades while those players still had equity. The way he handled it though was despicable.

Take the SF giants for example. They held on to all those World Series players and their team has been depleted from young talent coming in. Now they’re in a deep rebuilding phase. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.

Gotcha. Thanks for the answers fellas. I was born in 1992 so I started watching basketball the year my Sixers made it to the finals

One thing that I'm still wondering is if Pipped had an agent that could have advised him not to sign that long term deal.
