i love this song

That album was piff.  Had a handful of stinkers on it but some of the tracks were ill.  I Can't Wait by U-N-I and Round N' Round by Pac Div used to bump.

yea man, it was good for what it was. I cant wait was one of the few songs i liked from UNI

remember the beef with them and dom a while after? :lol

the tape always reminded me of 90's in LA.. i was young but remembered my cousins and younger uncles dressing that way it was a cool time.. :smokin

Went to two best buys in and around the Greenville SC area... Both said copies were in the system. No copies were found by myself or the doofus from best buy mobile.

Dom is just too cool to rap. Damn near every song on the album sounds like a spoken word intro. From FTWWL2 to this project he's slowly devolved from actually rapping to the lazy flow. Can't get with it

Exactly how I feel. He gives off that "Too Cool For the Room" and "Too Westside/Cool" feel which translates to him sounding lazy, and it feels like he doesn't even try anymore. The quality on Westside 1, Westside II, Original Dom >>>>>

meh don't get when people say this

not like he's spitting over boring boom bap beats . . . his music is smooth and would do well on radio as it already is . . .

Yellow Album should have been an album through a major distribution channel and it would have sold very well . . . My Type of Party did not reach it's full potential as a single, ALMOST every song on that tape could have been a single

Even on GHS, After School, Erica Part 2, Dominic, Still Callin . . . any one of those could be big records

He wouldn't have to change his sound when signing with a major . . . that wouldn't be a problem, it's those shady rape deals where they take your touring, publishing, merchandising thats prolly holding it up . . . but it's standard these days, so many artists are just letting themselves get violated nowadays so unless you're Drake, getting top ten records independently, you don't really have much bargain power, because they can just go sign the next dude for all that trouble

I hear you, and I agree, but IMO why DOM isn't signing is simple: Labels aren't offering him anything that he can't do himself/with arch and drewbyrd.

Dom said it would take 2 mill for him to sign and he's dead serious. What can a Label right now provide for him that he can't do for himself? Maybe more exposure, but at what cost? You can offer more exposure and other outlets, but at the end of the day if it only equates to a few extra thousand dollars, what good does that do to be under someone else?

Although GHS isn't my favorite Dom album by far, the DOM story intrigues me. I want to see how far he can push this independent wave. He was in Best buy not only independently, but without a distributor as well. That's incredible. From that standpoint, he's an inspiration and I want him to continue to do incredible things on an independent level, and continue to dispel the traditional limits that an Indie rap artist has.

:lol i found it.

I get that alot now.

It was just a heartfelt statement. I wake up somedays and look at what Nike produces and where the legacy of Jordan (Brand) is going and It bothers me.

Just like alot of people.[/quote]

I agree.

That's why I'm interested in how this Nipsey Hussle situation pans out because what he's saying is right . . . labels are either going to have to start giving out better deals where artists own more of their brand, or they will become extinct.

And Dom is cool and all but one of his verses isn't going to have me throwing away pairs of shoes . . .

I keep a pair or three of Authentics in the rotation. It's a must.

Can't even front I listened to so much Dom that I started wearing Chanel Platinum. Broads be like "you smell good" sometimes I hit them with "this that platinum"

I think a lot of people confuse Dom's vibe with being lazy. Dom always seems happy and content with living his own life and doing his own thing, just doing things that make him happy. He seems like someone who is happy with the way his life has turned out and is just enjoying it.

After school need to be a single, dear god that got that platinum chanel feel, song so good I barely get to listen to the other tracks because I just repeat the track
