Do UNC folks root for the UNCGs, UNCCs and UNCWs of the world just because they're in state?

Can't speak for all of us...

I root for them because they are usually underdogs and they are close by. I root for UNCG most, because their coach has a ring from 2005 on our squad.

Word. Always just kind of wondered. I guess I would probably find myself rooting for Towson or UMBC if they made the tourney too.

Probably a similar situation.

I will say the UNC-XXXX gets a rep of being tighter knit across the spectrum than it probably is. Me personally, I don't keep up with any of them really. I come across news for UNCG because of Wes Miller as the coach, but I couldn't tell you anything about the season UNC-Charlotte or UNC-Wilmington is having. They aren't followed any closer than say, App State just because they are a part of the UNC system and have that prefix. It's more of a "when you go to fill out your brackets and you see UNCW you say 'Oh cool, would be neat if they snagged a game' or something"

I was about to say, I figure most the UNC fans root for UNCG because of Wes Miller and/or b/c they went there (or know folks that went there)

They have a pretty good sized alumni base in state

G took over once UNC-C fell down the drain.

Wes Miller won’t be there for much longer. Someone will come calling very soon

"Nevada junior forward Caleb Martin was named the Mountain West's player and newcomer of the year after a season in which the Wolf Pack captured the conference's regular-season title.

Martin averaged 19.5 point this season. His twin brother, Cody Martin, was the defensive player of the year in a vote by the league's coaches".

Oh boy. Penny preparing to take over Memphis and possibly bringing Larry Brown on staff.

James Wiseman gonna really end up there huh

Larry brown trying to coach every team in the country before he retires. That man will die on the sidelines.

Don't know any of those dudes other than Knox and Chiozza from a random game I watched

Is Tyler Davis the other big on A&M that isn't Robert Williams? If so, I know him too.

I seen everybody in the SEC. Yante Maten , Grant Williams and Chris Silva have all been good for a couple years now.

Silva is a monster for the 15 minutes he can stay on the floor before he fouls out
