The Bicycle Thread

Can anybody point me in the direction of a small single speed/fixed gear frame? I'm looking to build a bike for my little sis. She's about 5'2 or so, and i think something like a 42-44 would fit her.

I read somewhere that IRO cycles had a frame for shorter people called the Heidi, but that company seems to be non existent now.

Got lucky and was able to get one of the last FX 3’s in stock during this bike drought

Anyone ever get a proper bike fit?

Spending 3 hours with a pro fitter next week. $300 though. Worth it?

I've done that - fairly useful. Mostly mine confirmed that everything I had done was right - just some minor tweaks and suggested a few things which have been good. Only paid about $180 for a guy who now does it part time - came to me so doesn't have to pay for an office.

I'm thinking of getting my cleat position checked again - switching to speedplay and I'd like to get them spot on. I'll see how my usual trial and error works first though.

If it's for basic leisure riding, i would recommend against it. If you're taking cycling serious, it definitely makes a difference because proper positioning, bike size, adjustments, etc. go a very a long way.

I have a question
So my frame I guess stock the rear derailleur cables goes on the bottom of the frame and beneath the bottom bracket, but I think I might have stripped the screw

should I just retread the whole and get a new screw?

I think ima try zip tieing it

so i figured out a solution, I am going to run a contnuous derailleur cable housing, drill out the stays and zip tie them to the frame.

what yall think?

also the details on my paint job suck.

next build im eyeing a propain full suspension mtb 8o

You could just glue it on? The cables hold it to the frame anyway so the screw isn’t really that important.

If that doesn’t work I would try retapping the hole first.

Very good idea, but I’ve read forum posts and many people bypass that and just leave the cable housing on the wire from the shifter all the way till the derailleur stop at the back of the bike.

this way the wire that’s exposed in the middle of the bike doesn’t become all dirty and gummed up

It was wild. Total collapse from Roglic.

Pleased for Richie Porte though.

First time really watching it and learning how the team works in racing. Didn’t realize all the strategy to carry your main guy for 3 weeks.

Ate it today trying to clip out. Clipped out my left foot then couldn't clip out my right foot. Luckily my hand broke the fall and I landed in the dirt instead of on the road. Bruised my wrist and got a small scuff on the rear of the frame. So not too bad. All because I forgot to turn on my rear tail light |l:lol:

What clipless pedals and cycling shoes you running with?

It's getting colder out here on the east coast, what y'all fall/winter bike riding gear looking like? 👀

yeah I felt so bad for dude. he didn't even do that bad, Pogocar just had one of the greatest performances I have ever seen in a time trial (hope he clean, always skeptical when I see one of these performances)

Happy for Richie, but it has to be bittersweet, he finally is able to stay upright and make the podium, but it comes at the end of his prime.

I was watching it on and off.

The god Peter Sagan (sp?) didn't do as well as they were hoping. I think I was only caught up with stage 14-16

Shimano PD A530 and SH-XC31W

It's a hybrid pedal with platform and SPD. Initially bought it for gravel riding. Eventually I'll switch to SPD SL pedals and shoes and put them back on my other bike. They probably are discontinued now. Shimano makes great budget gear that won't break the bank.

It is nice being able to walk in SPD shoes.

I’ve currently got Shimano shoes and SPD-SLs on my road bikes and SPDs on my ‘cross bikes - also with Shimano shoes. Those are bmx type shoes that are good to walk and look like black sneakers so I use them for going to meetings and things.

My knees are bothering me though and I can’t get the position right since I changed shoes - I drilled new holes in my old Bont shoes and was much more comfortable. I’m about to order Luck custom shoes which look good (even the wide Shimano shoes are too narrow and pointy) and switch to Speedplay pedals - mainly for the fact that you can get adaptors to put the cleats much further back.

Yo, Chao321988 Chao321988 you were part of this ride out correct? Do you see yourself in here? I think the guy with the blue shirt and speaker at 42 seconds was riding with Yeezy 2s on :wow:
