The 2012 NFL Draft Thread, 4/26 8EST/5PST Vikings are on the clock

Yeah I don't think Burfict is going to have that amazing of a workout. He's a football player, not a workout warrior.

Burfict's combine may not be as "wow" as you may expect CP.
Ingram is the name that I do hear alot from the guys I work with.  I haven't worked on any real DT's yet though except for the kid from Washington, and he picked a bad week cuz I watched him vs Stanford and he got MANhandled all game long.  I didn't think jack @$#$% of him, even knowing he faced a legit line.  He's the only one I have personally focused on so far.

And if Burfict doesn't kill the combine, to me he drops far.  He has a nice motor, but it's deaf to whistles and it gets annoying.  I know teams take chances and overlook things, but there are safer picks.  His best shot was to be a freak athletic type with "potential" and all that jazz.

EDIT
Worthy is another they speak very highly of.  I've seen him mentioned multiple games, they are impressed with him.

I just got assigned the North Carolina vs Va Tech game just for you all.

I been wanting to see Coples and now I can re-watch Wilson 6 weeks later after the Miami game.

^ nice..

i just want to get some special players on defense, specifically at DT, MLB and DE, with out first couple picks.. we'll have 10+ picks (i think we have 11 now) and have no need for that many players on our roster

CP, what'd you think of Jonas Gray?

I could just be a homer, but he's turned himself into a draft pick from what I can tell. Always had the measurables and now everything has finally clicked.

I liked both backs.  I haven't done my write up yet, but I'll speak kindly on both of them.   I think Wood was the one I liked more, but not sure if he's coming out or not.  His decleater when it was 38-14 was just as nice as Floyd blocking two dudes on one play a few moments earlier.  Why they were still in the game at that point is questionable to me though.  I mean, save some hits on those kids.

RB is hard to predict where they go though, I think of all the solid backs that go in rounds 2-3-4, I find it hard to be sure who goes where.  But I think both can play in the NFL, only thing I know is they both have to work in pass blocking (as does any rookie really)  Mayock even spoke about it during the game how they are only asked to run up til college.

I think Casey Hayward made himself some money this season. He's got decent size and definitely play in a zone scheme. Probably a 4.55 guy like DJ was but he is shifty & has great ball skills.

after tonight's game.. and what someone said above

is matt barkley really going to suffer because of the recent USC QBs to come out?

CP I'm gonna need you to not be assigned any more of our games, every time you watch Wilson has a let down

After tonight I think he has at least 6 fumbles on the year and 4 of them lost. That's abysmal.

Still he had a "down" game and was like 80 yards on limited carries.  He wasn't terrible, but I did see the two fumbles.  It will get mentioned.

I have to write up everything and then submit it, it should go up on the site in a few hours, I'll send you the link when it's up and you can take a look and see if you agree with what I say.

I know who Charles is, and he isn't the top TE prospect at all, but he is nice.  But I have no clue what LB you speak of.  I have a list of some 200 players, and no Georgia LB is on it.  You guys have a couple OL, a TE, and a CB.  Those the only 4 I know from that roster that could be taken early to mid draft.

Well, Matt Barkley basically cemented himself as the #2 type pick.  May not go 2 if a team with a QB is there, but he's certainly the second QB off the board now, and a top pick easy.
RGIII I have no read on.  I know people are drooling over his ability, I am hearing/seeing him moving all the way up inside the top 10, he certainly will have a lot of buzz around him.  And I keep seeing the Skins mentioned with him, though if they keep losing, they may be in play for Barkley.

I've seen some suggestions that Cleveland may go QB in this draft.  I think that's a mistake.  If they go QB, they are basically starting fresh again, why go thru that?  Stick with McCoy the one extra year, use the extra picks you have from Atlanta, and give him weapons to use., then make your decision.  I get that this is a deep class and they can pick up a solid one no matter where they select, but that's counterproductive to me.

5AM, I sent you a PM after the NC/Va Tech game man, but I have no idea if you seen it or not yet.

I feel so bad for the team that selects Andrew Luck over him.

I'd rather the Colts take RGIII than Luck, hell even Barkley

I agree with the last two posts. Luck being in this draft is unfortunate almost. How can teams pass with all that hype already? I think Luck will be good, but I have my personal favorites before Luck. Anyway..As of right now MY QB ranks are as so:

1. Barkley
2. Luck
3. RGIII
4. Foles

Probably changes here and there the more I really get to look deeper at things, but that's right now how I personally feel on the QB's.

Jarvis Jones

and I feel it's a 3-way tie for top TE depending on who you ask, it's between OC7, Dwayne Allen & Lutzendude

Cardo, Jones is a Sophomore, is he a redshirt, therefore eligible?  That may be why no one I know is paying attention to him.

And for me, I have Fleener as my #1 TE if he declares, and Allen is up there, Egnew as well.  And really the only Duck that I like is their TE Paulson, I think that kid's good.  Charles is in that 3-5 range for me, unless some of the JR's stay in school.

Ches, you know I like Barkley, we've talked before that he or Luck is great, but I can't stress to you enough, give Luck Lee and Woods, tell me what you think that would feel like.  Bark played a great game, but he also had PLAYMAKERS galore out there doin things for him, Luck had none of that, his best WR and one of his TE's were gone and he still put 30 on the board.  I think Luck will be just fine, but Barkley is starting to look like he will break the USC streak as well.

Paul, why on earth would you have Foles ahead of Tannehill or Landry Jones?
laugh.gif
And I actually think Foles will get picked way sooner than he should, 2-3 round instead of like round 4 or 5.
