Mosh Pit do's and don'ts

Do:
Run around
Jump
Push
Shove
Help people up if they get knocked over

Don't:
Ninja moves
Break dance
Throw punches, elbows, knees, etc.
Wear any clothing that you like
Wear a watch

There's probably more, but I haven't had my first cup of coffee yet. The size of the mosh pit will generally depend on whether the concert is insideor outside. Obviously an outside venue has generally more room for moshing. Moshing itself is kind of like a continuous two hand touch football game (unlessit's someone like Slayer then it's more like a soccer riot), and I wouldn't think Mastodon would be too bad of a concert. I didn't get up toPortland to see them when they were here

and if you go to the mastodon concert, they wont have the biggest pit. converge will. speaking of which, im going tonight myself

i heard about brian redman's passing, but not alexander's. thats really sad, those guys can really shred. is amon amarth and entombed still gonna contthe tour? my brother was pretty bummed out when i told him. he likes them more than i do.

If you don't want much part in the pit. My suggestion is to stay on the sides or right in front of the gate. But everything was pretty much covered. Now ifyou like the idea of the most pit, I recommend going to a Cannibal Corpse concert. Check some youtube videos.

i'd also like to add that push moshing is gay.

but Mastodon should be very tame. just go watch the band and enjoy the show.

Man I missed so much going on in here. I went to visit a close friend who plays ball down in Mississippi for a week so Ive been on the hiatus tip.

Physicx -- Dope my friend. Im glad you got to see your favorite band like that up and personal. Thanks a lot for sharing the pics and your story. I would do alot of things to have that situation with Maiden. NH.

J1--I listen to 100 Demons every once in a while, my buddy actually put me onto them when he saw them open for some metalcore band that I cant remember.

last night was ok

i completely missed high on fire's performance. i dont listen to them plus i saw them open for megadeth last year so i didnt mind skipping that. i washungry as a mother %*#*%$ and ate at some diner not too far from the venue. i prolly could of caught hof if my food didnt take almost an hour

i missed some of converge too. the crowd wasnt really into them which was kind of sad. they have alot of energy on stage. i swear to god, if they come again toa smaller venue, im def hitting that up. i dont know much of their material so i wouldnt be able to tell you their whole setlist, but i know that they did playthe saddest day. would love to listen to them more often starting now

next up was mastodon. dont worry mike, there was pretty much no pit

youll be alright lol. they had the screen set up in the background with a whole bunchof videos and psychedelic effects in the background. pretty trippy. the merch table was right beside the doors to the concert hall so i went to buy some shirtswhile still being able to hear the music. also this way i could avoid the lines because 90% of the crowd went to see mastodon. i would of liked to hear bloodand thunder but they didnt

now for dethklok. i bought 2 shirts for my little brother because he loves them. he didnt come with me on the account that its a school night. the skits werefunny in between songs. but yeah, brendan small, the bassist plus guitarist just stand there. gene hoglan is a machine though. the voice was pretty goodactually, basically identical to the show but what do you expect right? lol. setlist was ok. crowd was going wild but there was no pit at all. even after afacebones skit on moshing. they didnt play castratikron (sp?) which was disappointing. ive hardly listened to the new album. all i know is that they playedgears and bloodlines from the new cd. it went by fairly quickly. i stayed for the entire thing and got out just before 11. all in all an ok evening.

im not surprised that the crowd was lame for Converge. its kinda hard to drop $40+ to see Converge open up for Dethklok knowing that they'll probably do aheadlining tour soon with a longer set, smaller venue, and at a much cheaper price. im still considering going to the hollywood show but that venue(hollywoodpalladium) blows now.

if you want to get into Converge, imo this band can do no wrong but start off with "Jane Doe" since its considered to be their best work(i cant picka favorite). then go from there...You Fail Me, No Heroes, Petitioning The Empty Sky, When Forever Comes Crashing.......

its a chick, it doesnt sound strange to me, they basically just do the whole male/female dueling vocals in the vein of Despise You (Inglewoods Finest

).

i know a few people have said the band would sound better with out her, i disagree it wouldnt be better and it wouldnt be worse imo...i just dont care. i fullyback the "Deconstruct" album, so much that i'd put it in my top 10 this year(so far) in the "metal/hardcore" realm of music.

at the end of the day "power violence" isnt for everyone, but i dig it.

rust - yeah, im a student. i really shouldnt be going to all these concerts lol. i work on weekends only. i have to because my loan got disapproved (i think imentioned that a bit ago, not sure) so i pretty much need the money. the guy i went with payed for dethklok (40 bucks) and all he asked for in return was at-shirt (25 bucks)

bcf, thanks for the heads up on the maiden shirt, but i need a M. the one you showed me is tempting but i really want to wear it

Yeah I caught that interview J1Goku. Its funny because even though the guy is sober he still seems like he's stoned. I guess many years of drugs will dothat to you. Anyway I was worried for you Physicx, I thought you spent a junk load of money on concerts till you said that dude paid for you. I'm prettysure we are all students. Its funny how when we don't have money we still find a way to go to shows. I shouldn't have bought those tickets for Megadethbut I did anyways. Its kind of like if Maiden said they were coming to my town next month I know I don't have the money but I'll damn sure find a wayto get it. By the way I read an interview with Rod Smallwood last week and he said they are already making plans for their tour next year for summer and fall.They should be going into the studio next month or december to start on their new album.

As for Ninja, sorry about your Niners, they got spanked pretty bad but I think somehow yall will still make it to the wildcard. You might see the Falcons thereseeing how good the Saints are doing.
