STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

***rant incoming

Was doing face pulls with my brother today when 3 dudes came over. 2 of em were cool (kinda), but 1 dude was a total ****. He asks me how many sets I had left. I said "2". He tells his bros, "Yo, they only have 2 sets left. We'll wait." So they're waiting behind me and I proceed to do my 2nd set and my brother does his. Usually I'll rest for a couple minutes before going onto my next set but this ******* wouldn't stop complaining. 1 of the dudes tells his friend (aka. the ****) "Hey, let's just use the other rope and super set it with this (I guess they were doing preacher curls+tricep pushdowns with the rope and there were 2 cables open atm)". The **** goes, "Naw man. We have to use THAT rope and plus, it's too far to walk all the way around. We can't waste time and we have to superset this without taking breaks (I **** you not, it would've taken him literally 5 steps to go from their cable to the other open cable). So I say "**** it" and do my 3rd set without resting cause he was pissing me off and my brother did his. BUT, while my brother was mid-way into his last set, the dude says "Come on! Come on! Come on!" as if another 10 seconds was going to kill him.

TLDR: Dudes rushing me and my bro to finish our sets while they stand around behind us.

 I wanted to, but I was done with his *****ing and just wanted to finish up my workout since I just had curls left. It was my 1st time encountering a dude like him. Other people who have asked me how many sets I had would either ask me if they could work in with me or just come back later after doing another exercise and I'm completely fine with that.

Yeah, I feel you. Whenever people ask to work in with me they usually do the same. If they don't work in and just hang around I find myself kinda rushing even if they don't say anything lol

For sure. I just knew that they were waiting for us to finish (Well, I guess in this case the dude made it blatantly obvious). That's why I prefer to workout at around 9 pm since the gym is usually empty and I can yell all I want on my lifts lol.
 
When I started out, people were always gracious to let me work in with them but they were so much stronger, I felt bad about having them take all those 45s and 25s so I can put in my 10s or 15s

So I told them I'd just wait :lol

I probably looked like an *** just staring, waiting for someone to finish their sets

If I still worked out at a commercial gym, with the mentality I have now, I would've just done my workout out of order, move on to another exercise and come back later
 
When people start noticing you've been working out and they compliment you >


That's the main reason I do it

Lol I hate when that happens too. People will ask to work in with me and I'm like "sure", thinking that they lifted just as much as me but nope. Dudes be repping my weight mad quick and I'm just like...oops, my b

I sometimes switch it around too cause my routine is 3x5, 3x5, 3x8, 3x10, 2x15, 2x10. But I prefer only switching the first 2, then 2nd 2, etc. since my 1st 2 lifts are focused on compound exercises+strength and don't want to get tired out mid-workout.

^^Word bro. I was ok with working in with people on my strength level but working in with anyone weaker or way stronger than me was always a hassle I always tried to avoid :lol

I've had a few girls ask if they could work in during my squats. I don't mind taking the weights on/off if the person working in helps out but this one time some girl mistook 35s for 45s. I'm glad I caught it before tryna get into my set.
