STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Cross fit isn't exactly something specifically made to bulk you up, or lean you out.

Diet and lift weights.

but if you are going to do cross fit, learn how to do it right, don't watch a video and start power cleaning. take your time to study the craft.

One of my brothers friends told me he quit doing crossfit because he was getting too big. I got up, pushed my chair in, and walked away.

The guy is skinny fat and has zero muscle. I LOL'd on the inside so hard.

Why is everyone worried about looking like they take steroids? Do you honestly think you're gonna go work out a few times and accidentally Ronnie Coleman?

This!

I have a few "bigger" friends who never go to the gym. When they do go, they want to stay away from the heavier weights because they don't want to get "too big" or "bulky"

I'm trying to get bigger actually trying to lose more body fat and gain more muscle , I think I'm just gonna bulk up at 175 I've been working out for at least the past 6 months on and off with school and work in between but I really don't see any difference , when I'm in the gym I lift heavier and do less reps I walk around feeling like the hulk but once I get home get out of the shower all my gainz are gone (if that make sense lol ) I'm eating better then ever with quest bars , boiled at lest 6 eggs in the morning with a yogurt , lunch I usually have chicken. Breast with sweet potatoes or lean ground beef .

I'm 175 btw my workouts usually consist of Tri and Chest Mondays , Tuesdays Shoulders Wednesday Legs , Thursday or Fridays depending on my free time back and biceps

It's funnier when you talk to chicks that sa ythat.

I was talking to this chick who is like 160-170lbs and short...
she's training with a cross fit PT,
I tell her do cardio, some high rep light weights..
you know what she says...
I dont like to do weights because I don't want to be bulky and nasty

looked at her and said. bulky and nasty isn't a problem. (sort of sly under comment)

As far as benching goes, get that scapular retraction down and save your shoulders.

As far as music goes, someone make a spotify NTstrong list and let me flourish.

This. I can't stress enough how crossfit is, for all intents and purposes, a sport more than a training style. The idea of going HAM on crossfit workouts to either get bigger or lean out is really misguided. Good crossfit athletes work on skills, conditioning, and regression most of the week and then push all-out crossfit work to prep for competition.

Trying to get in shape by doing heavy technical lifts to exhaustion could either get you hurt right away, or somewhere down the line. And it might yield some results at first but not long-lasting.

I would find a strength and conditioning facility to train at, or find a crossfit box that offers some 1 on 1 coaching with experienced instructors if you're really interested in the sport of crossfit. If you just want to get in shape, just start reading, researching and iust get in the gym and do what you're comfortable with in the meantime.

Id imagine cross fit + diet would lean someone out. Youre burning a ton of calories doing their WOD's, plus a good diet and youll get in good shape with consistency.

I just want to lift in my garage when I don't have the time to commute. Any oly lifters in here can recommend weights that can hold up against repeated dropping on cement?

Some crossfit gyms have those black rubber weights. What do you think?

Diet and being active in general would "lean you out" and depending on the cross fit lifts, they're more for building. it's the cardio/aerobic part that would "Lean out"

as Pana said, just know what the heck you're doing.
I said this a few days ago, it's excruciating watching randoms with no proper training doing cross fit.

Should've told her the dirty bulk isn't a good look if she doesn't want to look bulky and nasty.

Puzzle mats should suffice. You could double up if you wanted to be extra careful.

Why did it take me sec to get @BIGBOSS comment on IG [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

Ive had numerous people come up to me and say that notorious " Id look like you if I took steroids" comment.  I invite them all to come and train with me...a few did, couldn't even make it through chest day.  Needless to say, never heard **** from em ever again!
