Jeremy Bulloch and David Prowse are going to be in town for some convention this weekend and Carrie Fisher will be here next weekend for another convention.

Not going to either though.

Prowse has to do those conventions because he is banned from Celebration

Why?

they need to learn from their mistakes in ep 1 and keep the same villain throughout the trilogy

Maul is the gawd...

But seriously. Knowing that they are looking to cast another villain, does that mean Kylo Ren or Snoke are not in play in Ep 8? I mean ESB didn't really introduce anyone that was a villain (maybe Lando System) and ROTJ revealed Jabba, but he was killed off there in the first 30 or so minutes.

the great part of the OG trilogy is that every time you see vader you know its about to go down

sucks that they couldnt do that with maul. its not as exciting when the good guys beat every bad guy within 30 minutes of screen time

True dat. Vader has that gravitas that you know he isn't messing around and that he's a person to be reckoned with. Heath's Joker had the same feeling. You really didn't know if the protagonist would "win" or come out on top. The bad guy has to win sometimes to make the viewer really believe he's a force to deal with.

i would like to see them create a droid villain

maybe IG 88 is still around?

always liked his design

Went to watch antman on IMAX tonight and saw the trailer on that format :eek

Live Star Wars Series coming to Netflix?

Via: http://www.cinelinx.com/tv/item/8034-star-wars-live-action-tv-update-netflix-bound-exclusive.html

With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens a mere four months away, and the first standalone Film Rogue One in production Star Wars fans have turned their attention to Television. Back in March it was announced that Disney was looking at the possibility of a live action Star Wars TV show. One of the hurdles they faced was Nailing down their Cinematic schedule. This would allow them to share film sets with the television series. With a release date now set for Episode VIII is seems that the schedule may be falling into place.

Now Jordan Maison over at Cinelinx has shared new information on what Disney may have planned for TV and it sounds like it involves Netflix. Impressed with the success of Marvel’s live action series Daredevil Disney would like to expand their partnership with the streaming media provider, and introduce multiple Star Wars shows. They plan to follow the blueprint set by Marvel with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders. Considering the successful working relationship they have with the provider. The Netflix model this seems like a right place to explore the the types of stories they would not be able to do on network TV.

I would so, so, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO think that is a platform they could make "Legends" television. 8o

Completely separate casts, characters (actors/actresses) they wouldn't need for the films, ala Arrow/Flash TV show that doesn't dip into the DC movie pool. Could tell the stories that are already well known, without screwing the timelines they are trying to patch up now. Endless content, etc. I don't know if they'll go that route, but someone is going to try and do something with that content someday, TV (rather than movies) would be the natural fit for an attempt like that. Even animated would work if need be.
