Back in March it was announced that Disney was looking at the possibility of a live action Star Wars TV show. One of the hurdles they faced was Nailing down their Cinematic schedule. This would allow them to share film sets with the television series. With a release date now set for Episode VIII is seems that the schedule may be falling into place.
Now Jordan Maison over at Cinelinx has shared new information on what Disney may have planned for TV and it sounds like it involves Netflix. Impressed with the success of Marvel’s live action series Daredevil Disney would like to expand their partnership with the streaming media provider, and introduce multiple Star Wars shows. They plan to follow the blueprint set by Marvel with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders. Considering the successful working relationship they have with the provider. The Netflix model this seems like a right place to explore the the types of stories they would not be able to do on network TV.
