Thrawn ready for all the SMOKE!!

I was just thinking, I would be annoyed if Ezra only shows up in Ahsoka via the hologram that Sabine was looking at lol

But I'd be fine if that means more Sabine

I think Ezra's the McGuffin for the Ahsoka show but will be one of the main guys in The Heir to the Empire movie.

I'm expecting this Ahsoka show to be like Mando season 2. A lot of Easter Eggs and cameos with an adventure of the week-type format, but the overall arc is her eventually finding Thrawn/Ezra.

Unless they plan on messing with the original Thrawn story don't expect Ezra to be in Heir. If they do it would be a travesty and lip service. The original trilogy by Timothy Zahn was cause for Lucas to gain a new interest in the SW universe thus leading to the prequels. In fact the city of Coruscant was coined by Zahn in the trilogy and used by Lucas.

There has been so much expanded universe that was good that filled the gap after ROTJ that I'm glad it's getting more attention. I really do hope that the original Tales of the Jedi comics are used as source for the continuation of the animated series and that Disney somehow can use the Dark Horse comics of the 90s/2000s as well. Dark Empire was a great story arc and people still love classic Luke.

They're not going to copy what's already been done, just pluck what they want from it. We need original programming that gives nods to the past but not retell stories already written. Star Wars isn't LOTR or Harry Potter.

Does heir to the empire mean we’re getting more palpatine clones or more of his grandkids?

^^^maybe

Heir had nothing to do with Palpatine but mostly Thrawn and his control of what remained of the empire and trying to re-establish the Empire.

The story that followed Heir to the Empire, Dark Empire, was where we were introduced to the Palpatine clones.

All of these take place 5-6 years after the battle of Endor aka ROTJ.

It's really all going to depend on how much of the original plot Filoni will grab, especially since Zahn's books aren't really considered cannon which I think they should be at this point.

Also if we're following the timeline and if Rebels has been made cannon, Ahsoka series will take place at least 9 years after Rebels ended.

Also not sure if y’all seen this, this guy Kai Patterson went ahead and cut down the Kenobi series into a 2 hour movie with new scenes.

Here’s the d/l link for the different version. Just d/l and about to watch the 4k version

So i watched the Kenobi movie and man that was a treat. The series was a tough watch for me to be honest so this condensed 2 hour affair hit the spot.

It got rid of a lot of the fluff, although some cool sequences were left out. Like Reva’s interrogation of Owen and the entire Ben / Owen conflict dynamic was left out. tBh that’s all i really remember being left out. A lot of the side stuff with Ben and Leía was edited down to a point where it flowed right.

Honestly it was very well done and didn’t lose a lot of the essence of the show.

I’m looking forward to this version if it gets released. The re-VFX’d version with new graphics and scenes along with scenes from the movies spliced in
