Man. Rally didn't know China money was that long where it pushed that warrior movie to do those numbers.

If US can really tap into their movie business...

Also are there any other countries besides US to do huge budget films?
Like anything with CGI that is cool?

Lol I'm sure other countries have their nice high tech movies and we just don't know about it

Their population alone will push a popular Chinese movie into a top earning list.

Michelle Williams to Star in ‘Venom’ Opposite Tom Hardy

Michelle Williams is in talks to star opposite Tom Hardy in Sony’s “Venom” movie.

Riz Ahmed is also on board with Ruben Fleischer directing.

Sources say Williams would play a district attorney and possibly Hardy’s love interest. Sony had no comment on the casting.

The studio has already made it clear that “Venom” will play no part in the Spider-Man universe, and that the film will stand on its own.

Scott Rosenberg (“Jumanji”) and Jeff Pinkner (“The Dark Tower”) will write the script for “Venom,” with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal. Palak Patel and Eric Fineman are overseeing the project for Columbia Pictures.

“Venom” is set to hit theaters on Oct. 5, 2018.

Feels like they should be shooting right now. With such a small window to shoot, edit, and market, I have a feeling they're not going the symbiote route

It was reported way back that it was suppose to start shooting this month but I believe it got pushed back, production probably starts October. WOuldn't be surprised if pre-production are already on going as I remember a report of Sony hirings in Atlanta last month.

As for the symbiote, it's essential to the story as they are deeming this film to have horror aspects with influence from David Cronenbergs work and I feel the symbiote is key in that.

A year seems like a tight schedule, unless it's gonna be a small scale film

I think that's typical especially since they only plan to film in two locations (Atlanta & NY iirc).

While it likely won't be small scale, Sony constantly saying it has horror aspects makes me think it's not going to go too crazy or big world with it. It might be confined in a certain (in a sense). GotG2s principal photography to release is about 14 months and that was like an ensemble film with all the actors scheduling.

Watching Spider Man, I could tell most of it was green screen. It could not have taken long for them shoot it.

Don't really matter how long they shoot.

Got Hardy, just picked up my girl Michelle. Movie will be good.

Iron Spider suit.

Watched it yesterday, very disappointed.
The kiddy version they made Spiderman into "sucks". Villain was cool but movie was B- at best
