I don't recall any other version of Spiderman acting like a 12 year old.

Action was good, story not so much.
Worth a matinee, not a full priced ticket tho

Is he not more childish in this movie?
Compared to what exactly? The other movies? Sure but hes like 15 in the movie facing off against his first real supervillain.

The last 2 movie Spidey's were HS Seniors to freshmen in college age and had young adult issues and repsonsibilities.

Cartoon Spidey's range from childish to serious adult.

The comic is the source material which covers it all. If you've read that you clearly can see what they're basing these new movies off of.

spider-man was never kiddish. not until this generation has peter been portrayed as a freshman in high school.

Y'all should read Untold tales of Spider-Man (came out in the 80s/90s). Nothing but Peter's HS days from freshmen onward).

I think despite using the same words ppl got other meanings in mind.

He was sophmore in the movie, and was most likely sophmore in the 60's comic. at not wanting a kid to act like a kid.

i'm just saying looks wise. at least in those comics he looked more towards 18+. this new peter looks 14

In the first ssues, he didn't look 18. He looked like a HS freshman / sophmore, which is what he was. They just aged him dumb quick. He graduated in like issue 30.

In the comics, this

doesn't look 18+ to me. Keeping in mind that was common attire for a 60s era nerd.

Peter didn't attend college until 3 years after Amazing Fantasy #15

Also as you can see, Peter in the comics actually has charm with women. Not obsessing over only one chick that his best friend was smashing first

He was always shooting his shot. He went after Liz early on, then moved on to Betty Brant

The movie captured charming Peter perfectly. Laura Harrier was a cold little piece they chose to play Liz Allen and show that Peter got game.

Sheesh.

Another thing to keep in mind with Marvel depicting their universe is its suppose to be the world outside your window. Couple that with their sliding time scale and every 20 or so origins are updated for the times.

Peter Parker rigidly acting like a teenager of 1965 is gonna have a lot of things that'll be unrelatable.
