Floyd has ducked and dodged the BEST fighters most of his career. That's fact, he admits it openly saying that there are many guys more dangerous then the paychecks they would give him so he won't fight them. Even the best he has fought came with stipulations. Corrales was forced to go so low in weight he was DEAD before the bell rang to start the fight. He avoided mosley for a decade until he was so ring worn from fighting everyone floyd wouldn't that he isn't really a threat anymore yet he STILL had floyd out on his feet in the second round. When he fought Castillo he LOST hands down and everyone who knows boxing agrees though he did win the rematch easily. He will never fight guys in their prime like he is right now who pose a serious threat. Sergio Martinez would make for one of the most interesting matchups of the last few years and he calls out floyd regularly. Paul Williams would roast floyd but since floyd will have nothing to do with either of those great fighters they are gonna fight one another, again. He picks and chooses fights so carefully that his true legacy will be more like that of roy jones(duck and dodger)then a true champ like joe calzage who fought EVERYONE.
Manny is another story altogether. In the begining he fought everyone. He fought guys people gave him no chance to beat and he went to war. He won and he lost but he gained respect every single time cause that is what a fighter should do. Then he fought marquez and everything changed. He started forcing every single fighter to either move up to a weight that they aren't built for or move down to a weight that they can't make. It made every fight unfair physically. Look at the de la hoya fight which was supposedly his biggest win. They KILLED de la hoya at the weigh in. If you re-watch the fight you can see before it even started that roach tells manny to jump on him cause he's dead. In an interview after roach says right when they got in the ring he saw the needle marks on de la hoyas arm showing he needed fluids which happens when you cut weight too much and can't keep down food or water. Roach trained de la hoya and knew exactly what weight he could not survive and used that to smash him. Same thing with cotto. That fight at a higher weight class is an epic war for sure. Drained like that cotto is a punching bag. It's not cheating but it sure isn't boxing. The whole steriod thing is beyond laughable. Of course he juices. There is no question anymore. Look at how his SKULL has changed shape in recent years. That doesn't happen for ANY other reason. He refuses olympic style testing saying it's cause he's scared of needles? Really? Then when floyd busts mosleys ancient #!% roach says oh well ok we'll test up to two weeks before the fight like you wanted! Of course floyd won't accept that now after mosley buzzed him and after he beat mosley who is someone roach has said before that manny will never fight because he's too dangerous unless he comes down to a weight that would kill him. i honestly don't think most of this stuff is mannys fault. He's too stupid. Roach pulls all the strings and he has turned a once fearless warrior into a drug-using fight fixing chump.
The worst part is that they are both so horribly talented they COULD be giving us some of the best fights in the history of boxing. Instead one avoids the best there is and the other uses drugs and fame to force people into fights they can't win. Both cowards in their own ways that are too scared to fight one another for fear of losing the legacy neither of them actually have.
That is complete BS. Most of his career
. He has been doing that for his most recent fight but not most of his career. You're exaggerating bro
History lesson for you bro.
At 130 pounds he flat out ducked joel casamayor and acelino freitas both amazing fighters at that time.
At 135 he said again and again he'd fight paul spadafora but refused to sign the contract and never mentioned it again.
At 140 kostya tszyu was one of the best EVER in his prime and floyd refused to even say his name after calling him out to sound brave.
At 147 he dodged miguel cotto and antonio margarito and still does.
Ay 154 he straight up says paul williams is too dangerous and sergio martinez isn't well known enough which is a bold-faced lie.
He fakes retirement again and again and sits back and watches real fighters pound each other to death then swoops in and fights the leftovers of what were once great warriors and acts like they are still in their prime like they were 5-10 years ago when he refused to even think about maybe possibly sort of wanting to fight them.
That is all FACT.
You can call it BS all you want tho, bro.
