Right, and all these partisan idiots in America are talking about wasting billions of dollars on “the corruption in Ukraine.”
We spent something like $2. 25 trillion in a largely Republican supported war against Iraq and Afghanistan for absolutely nothing? (Guess who was filling all those military contracts and making bank.) Botched exit or not, the opposition took back over our $2.25 trillion investment in less than a week. It wouldn’t have mattered who was in charge, that was never a winnable battle with the tribalism in that area.
But now we spend $50 billion to help expose an actually incredibly weak “superpower” and that’s way too big of an investment. I think the scariest part is that we’ve made a nuclear power realize that nuclear weaponry is all they actually have to threaten the world with. Nobody is scared of Russia’s military anymore. At this point I honestly don’t even know if they’re capable of firing those weapons effectively at this point. Is some yokel conscript on his third day on the job gonna be making sure those launchers get out of their bays safely?
And we’re also giving Ukraine billions of dollars to buy back our soon-to-be-expiring munitions. Supporting their fight against Russia isn’t really hurting our stockpile as much as it seems. The availability of chips to finish our rebuilding of munitions is not great at all, but that has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine.
