Whats the word on Tenuta? I would love to see Michigan look at him as a DC. That guy is solid. Right now, I would have to go with a Chris Peterson(Boise State HC) and John Tenuta as his DC as the best combination for my dream Michigan staff.

Personally, I'd rather have a good coac for a long period of time over a recruit who hasnt played a single down in college yet.

Exactly. I read it on Michigan's Rival site. It said that McGuffie doesnt like that Miles didnt make him an offer to LSU and that Les doesnt think he's gonna be a good RB anyway. Pretty much I'd take Les over this kid. One kid does not make or break a recruiting class. I'm sure we could get someone just as good if not better. Plus you don't always need highly rated guys, I think Mike Hart was a 3-star.

you can have ur opinions about the pac-10 but beating stanford and UCLA is nothing to be proud about, especially given the situations. stanford is stanford andnothing much needs to be said there, and UCLA was down to their third string QB i believe, Bethel-Thompson or whatever his name is (he SUCKS)..and also theyare the most inconsistent team in the country, if they make it to the Rose Bowl it's gonna be complete chaos.

Stop making excuses last time I checked that same crappy Stanford team somehow beat USC the team that may just win the conference. And there really is noexcuse for USC to lose at home to Stanford no injuries or 2nd string QBs should make that big of a difference considering USC brings in so many top recruits.

WOW I'm not even talking about USC, that came way out of the blue. That was in response to Notre Dame beating Stanford and UCLA

USC has no excuse to lose to Stanford, of course, but I didn't disagree with that.

Here's a scary thought about the skill-position players in this year's freshman class: How good will they be next season? Or as juniors?

We do know this: Defensive coordinators will have their work cut out for them.

Running backs Knowshon Moreno and LeSean McCoy had amazing seasons. Missouri's Jeremy Maclin has broken - or will break - several national freshman records for all-purpose yardage. Redshirt freshman quarterback Sam Bradford leads the nation in passing efficiency and is leading Oklahoma into the Big 12 title game.

But the most impressive performance belongs to Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, who stands above the rest as Rivals.com's National Freshman of the Year.

Crabtree leads the nation in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, and has from the first week of the season. His 1,861 yards, 21 touchdown catches and 125 receptions are national freshman records and Big 12 records. He is also the first freshman finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's best wide receiver.

Not really making excuses, but more of a 'What if' type thing...The truth is......The way this season as gone.....Y'all could have been 100%healthy.....and still lost to Stanford and Oregon....You never know

Oh, and I have read that it will be FSU vs. UK in the Music City Bowl....

Former Hurricane cornerback Doug Wiggins to transfer
Doug Wiggins, who signed with Miami-FL as part of its Class of 2007 as an ESPN 150 recruit, was dismissed from the team in October, will not rejoin the squad, and is looking to transfer, ESPN affiliate InsideTheU.com reports. He's slated to visit Western Michigan this weekend.
Wiggins enrolled early in January but was sitting out this season as a redshirt. According to InsideTheU.com, "His time at UM was hardly smooth as he got into a fight with teammate Anthony Reddick, walked out on practice, and was seen wearing a Florida State hat a week leading up to the big rivalry game."

Those are the kind of guys Miami is going after these days eh? ^^^

It's a shame, because from what I've seen, I think Shannon as a head coach.

UF fans...Two transfers

Fayson to WVU
Papello possibly to USF

Seems like Urban lied to them...

Whats good w/ Chris Rainey?? Did he RS this year???

chris rainey played.. just never really got in. i saw him get one carry in all the Florida games i watched, dude is extremely tiny. moody is a much bigger anddurable back, so chances are he will handle most if not all the sparse RB duties for Florida

i always thought rainey was kinda overhyped coming out of HS, devine >>>>>>>>> rainey (but neither is close to being intelligent

RB Williams to transfer, backup QB Waggener may leave as well
By MIKE MCCALL , Alligator Staff Writer
Freshman running back Bo Williams will seek a transfer from the UF football team this week, and backup quarterback Bryan Waggener is also contemplating leavingas well.

"I feel I'm not the best back here in the situation," Williams said. "I'm more comfortable in a power offense."

Because he was redshirted this season, Williams will have four years of eligibility at the school of his choice.

"Once I get my release, I'm going to talk to my family and then take my visits," he said. "Right now I don't have a clue. I'm justtaking it slow and focusing on my grades."

Williams attended Oakland Park Northeast High, where he was rated the 19th-best back in the 2007 recruiting class, according to Scout.com.

He thrived as a power runner, which isn't as valued in the Gators' spread offense.

The depth chart at the position looks crowded for next season, with Southern Cal transfer Emmanuel Moody, Mon Williams, Kestahn Moore, Brandon James, MarkusManson and Chris Rainey all in the mix.

"I've been doing good for the past five weeks," Bo said. "Urban Meyer pulled me to the side and said I was going to be the guy here, but Iwant to go back to the old-school power game, where I can touch the ball 20 to 25 times a game.

"The school is fantastic. I love the school. There's nothing wrong with the school or the program, but I've got to feed my family."

Williams would be the fourth player to transfer this season. Running back Chevon Walker, receiver Jarred Fayson and tight end Trent Pupello have already beengranted releases from the team, and another could join that list soon.

Offensive coordinator Dan Mullen said Waggener approached him during the season about his future at UF, and they sat down with Meyer on Tuesday to discussoptions.

"There's a chance he's going to look for an opportunity to transfer to a school where he can play right away," Mullen said.

Waggener was rated a four-star junior college quarterback at Glendora (Calif.) Citrus College. Waggener was expected to compete for playing time this seasonbehind Tim Tebow, but broke his foot early in spring practice.

"When you look at a kid that's that competitive that won championships in junior college that wants to get on the field, I think he's looking foran opportunity where he can go and play next year," Mullen said.

To do so, Waggener would have to transfer to a Division I-AA or Division II school, where NCAA rules wouldn't force him to sit out for a season.

Former quarterback Ingle Martin made a similar move in 2004, leaving UF for Division I-AA Furman.

"I think he's going to really look hard at what options are out there," Mullen said. "And if something looks good, then I think he would(transfer)."

Waggener has also talked to Tebow about his thoughts concerning a transfer.

"You want to be loyal, but you want to go somewhere and compete," Tebow said. "He'll go somewhere and hopefully make an impact. He's agood player, so he'll try to have an opportunity where he can be the guy."

It was just six short weeks ago that the University of Florida won a hard fought victory over several programs including Miami, Auburn and Clemson for thecommitment of Rivals100 cornerback JanorisJenkins. Now it appears as though the battle as to who will end up with the Pahokee (Fla.) prospect may not be over just yet.

Rivals100 CB Janoris Jenkins

"I called coach Urban Meyer tonight (Wednesday). He was talking about how bad they want me and they don'twant me to switch out. I told him I'm not de-committing so far, but I don't want to go to a two player team.

"It's the Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin show. I'm not trying to throw them out there, but I don't want to gowhere only two players get recognized. How fair's that to everyone else (who's) working hard? I want the defense to be recognized too. He (Meyer)didn't say much about it, he'll be here to talk to me and he said he hopes I don't de-commit."

There's that word that seems to mean so much in recruiting - commit.

What does it really mean though?

As is the case with many young men in the recruiting process, a commitment isn't necessarily a commitment, but rather a strong lean at the time.

On the evening of September 13th, in committing to Florida, Jenkins said that he was excited and thrilled to be a Gator and that it (the recruiting process)was all over.

That was then, this is now.

When asked to put a number on his current status, Jenkins replied,

"I want to be able to come in and play on a defense that dominates and plays together. I would say I'm about 85% committed to Florida."

As coaching staffs from across the country well know, 'committed' is nothing more than a word and nothing is a given until they see the fax machinespitting out a Letter of Intent.

Anything other than 100% committed and an outright refusal to take any other visits or even speak to another coach means that you can rest assured that othercollege's will smell blood in the water and start circling.

It has already started.

"I had Florida State come by yesterday. I had coach (John) Lilly and the defensive coordinator (Mickey Andrews) here. Florida and Auburn come tomorrow.Urban Meyer and Doc Holliday are coming to my home. Coach (Will) Muschamp and coach Eddie Gran from Auburn are coming."

Speaking of Auburn, recently the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder returned from an official visit to the Plains with a plan in place to also visit Florida and Miami. OnWednesday evening he said those two visits as well as two others will take place.

"I'm going to Florida on December 8th after the state (championship) game. I might not go. I might just send my mom," said Jenkins. "I go toMiami on with Micanor Regis and (Martavious) Odoms on December 14th. I want to try to set up something with LSU and West Virginia."

But before he gets too deeply involved with the recruiting process, Jenkins said he wants to focus on winning a state title and enjoying the limited amount oftime he has remaining with his high school football family.

"It feels good to be a senior but at the same time you start to feel like it's (high school career) coming to an end. It's going to be tough toleave everyone behind."

Maybe he won't have to. Jenkins has teammates either committed to or looking at several of the programs still recruiting him. However, he said the lure ofstaying together won't override two important factors.

"I can't go to a losing program. I'm used to winning. I don't know if I could handle not winning anymore. I need to win and I want to playearly."

chris rainey played.. just never really got in. i saw him get one carry in all the Florida games i watched, dude is extremely tiny. moody is a much bigger and durable back, so chances are he will handle most if not all the sparse RB duties for Florida

i always thought rainey was kinda overhyped coming out of HS, devine >>>>>>>>> rainey (but neither is close to being intelligent

STORRS, Conn. -- Connecticut coach Randy Edsall is staying with the Huskies.

Edsall

Edsall traveled to Atlanta earlier this week to talk to Georgia Tech officials about their coaching vacancy.

Edsall informed his team at its annual banquet Sunday that he had withdrawn his name from consideration for the job.

"I'll stay as long as you'll have me," Edsall told the audience.

The news came hours after the Huskies earned a share of the Big East championship in just their sixth season in college football's top division.

When Pittsburgh stunned West Virginia on Saturday, that knocked the Mountaineers (10-2, 5-2 Big East) into a tie with UConn (9-3, 5-2) atop the conferencestandings.

West Virginia had already secured the Big East's automatic Bowl Championship Series berth because of its 66-21 win over the Huskies on Nov. 24.

The co-championship comes in UConn's fourth year in the conference and its sixth season since moving up from what was then called Division I-AA.

"It is something that nobody thought could have happened four years ago or even at the start of this season," Edsall said Sunday. "To have ithappen in Year 4 in the league is a great compliment to the hard work of our student-athletes, assistant coaches and staff."

The title is the latest in a series of milestones reached by the Huskies this season. UConn earned its first national ranking in October, won its first gameover a ranked opponent that month, and went undefeated at home (7-0) for the first time in school history.

The Huskies are heading to the Meineke Car Care Bowl on Dec. 29 in Charlotte, N.C. It will be UConn's second trip to a bowl. The 2004 team won the MotorCity Bowl

"It's the Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin show. I'm not trying to throw them out there, but I don't want to go where only two players get recognized. How fair's that to everyone else (who's) working hard? I want the defense to be recognized too.

I came in here to post the news about Edsall. I'm guessing GT will probably go with Muschamp now. I don't thinkthey're serious about Neuheisel.

Dude is a speester, played that WR/RB that UF likes to run (a la Percy Harvin)...

However, he is transferring because he wants to play QB (He was a running QB in HS)....

Seems like he wants to run the spread option since he is also considering going to Illinois....

KLJ

So, its seems that Fayson is MOST likely to go to WVU.....But its not set in stone yet

Arkansas has focused its coaching search on Clemson's Tommy Bowden and is prepared to offer Bowden a contract in excess of $2 million annually, sourcestold ESPN.com.
Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips was in New York on Monday but may fly back to meet with Bowden on Tuesday morning to try andpersuade him to remain at Clemson. Earlier, Clemson had offered Bowden a two-year extension and $400,000 raise that would increase his total package toapproximately $1.6 million annually. Bowden and new Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long are longtime friends going back to their days at Duke when they workedon the Blue Devils' staff together. Bowden and Long met in South Carolina on Monday, sources told ESPN.com. Stanley Reed, the Arkansas board of trusteeschairman, told The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas on Monday that Long had indeed settled on Bowden and that Arkansas chancellor John White began seekingfeedback from the board of trustees, some of whom expressed reservations about Bowden possibly being a lateral hire for the Razorbacks. Bowden, 47, hasseemingly been on the hot seat each of the last three seasons at Clemson, as fans have become frustrated with his inability to get the Tigers to the ACCchampionship game or a BCS bowl. Bowden has a 69-41 record in nine seasons at Clemson and is 87-45 in 11 seasons overall. The irony should he take the Arkansasjob is that he would be replacing a coach, Houston Nutt, who took the Hogs to two SEC championship games in 10 years but left Fayetteville last month largelybecause of a fractured fan base. Nutt was named the Mississippi head coach a day after leaving Arkansas. Bowden, the son of legendary Florida State coach BobbyBowden, wasn't Arkansas' first choice to replace Nutt. The Razorbacks initially made overtures to Auburn's Tommy Tuberville and also inquired aboutNorth Carolina's Butch Davis, who last month agreed to a contract extension with the Tar Heels. Sources told ESPN.com's Joe Schad that Arkansas hasalso interviewed Tulsa offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn and Michigan defensive coordinator Ron English. Bowden guided the No. 15 Tigers to a 9-3 record thisseason, capped by his fifth victory in the last six seasons over archrival South Carolina. However, the Tigers lost at home to Boston College the week beforeand missed out on a chance to play in the ACC championship game. On Sunday, Clemson accepted an invitation to play Auburn (No. 23 BCS, No. 22 AP) in theChick-fil-A Bowl on Dec. 31. Each of Bowden's 11 teams at Tulane and Clemson have been eligible for postseason play
