Kendrick is one of my favorite rappers......but that ***** can get away with saying absolutely nothing and ***** will act like it’s the most brilliant thing in the world. Lil Pump or Rich the Kid could’ve said all 3 of these verses. It’s a fun song.

T.I wasn't the first to talk about Trappin but he's the one that brought it to the mainstream so he should get his credit.

With all that said Jay Rock and Kendricks verses are way better than Futures on that song
(especially Rock).
And Rich the kid and Lil Pump ain't rapping that Jay Rock verse.

Gucci makes better music than TIP. No matter how you slice it. Tip might be the better technical rapper, with a more consise/cleaner body of work....But Gucci makes better and much more creative music.

Gucci does not have a project as good as Trap Musik or Urban Legend. I listened to both of 'em a lot, Gucci got him as far as the amount of good music but TM, UL and probably King too I listened to those more than any Gucci project.
Being a better rapper matters.
Gucci got a good catalog too but some of that stuffy nose lazy flow Gucci **** is hard to listen to. He was being carried by production sometimes.

Like I said earlier....Tip has the cleaner catalog because he put out better albums, and wop just released a **** ton of music. Mostly good, some bad and some mid.
But a few of Gucci’s mixtapes (Mr. Perfect, Writing on the Wall etc) are right up there with Tips albums. And like you said....Gucci > Tip on the “amount of good music”.
That’s what matters to me at the end of the day. Is the music good?

Thing is he don't want credit for "popularizing" it, he wants credit for the literal creation of it
This not the first time he's brought this up tho, he been pushing this narrative for the last 5-6 years on and off, in radio interviews etc.
He said only thing in ATL was Outkast/Dungeon Family and Crunk before he started this and that’s just not true. ATL street _’s collectively created trap not Gucci, TI or Jeezy. People like Ghetto Mafia, Hard Boyz etc kinda pioneered it in the mid 90s. He knows this tho, his age group was 16-18 coming up on that music, hearing underground street _’s rap about re upping at the trap, hitting licks etc. He’s sampled Ghetto Mafia before too.
