Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Were they any good?

Didn’t listen to his last solo (The Fixtape), but the first two were alright. The joint album is the best from those. They felt like some of those albums from Real Talk ENT, where the tracks just seem thrown together for a quick cash grab. He needs an official MMG one in the next couple of months

50 got killed in his comments before those posts. Must have read them and said **** y’all, I don’t care. Posted that ****.

I think he went too far but at the same mad of y’all always like “keep that same energy” okay, so he did. Now what?

I’d rather he said nothing but I’m happy he didn’t fake the funk me put up some fake *** post.

Is there a reason to why Wale might have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to his music career?

At his rise, I don't remember being an independent artist being such a big thing as it is now. Now, since he's already established as an artist or even "worse", the peak of his career is behind him, can he possibly have a resurgence with falling further backwards?

What 50 did was distasteful but not surprising at all. One of Rick's affiliates did swing on him at an awards show and 50 did make Ross's child sweep his floor on camera. Its deeper than rap between these dudes, 50 could die tomorrow and Ross would take Ja Rule out dinner to celebrate. Just might not be on camera.

Define short end of the stick, he's had plenty of mainstream success and has atleast 1 hit record per album even before signing to MMG. His last album was a concept and it didn't translate to sales. He took a risk but I think he'll be fine, pretty sure he has offers out their now from other labels

Seems like he had the least success on a mainstream level compared to most of his peers. Maybe I'm overlooking a lot of stuff during that time period(one being Cudi's drug/alcohol addiction), but the common theme seems to be Wale isn't a likeable person.
