Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Ross has an amazing sound. I def think he’s underrated when it comes to his longevity and sound. He’s like Ty$. Fam is the seasoning that makes a dish better. But you’re not running to the restaurant to order seasoning.

Still not touching Biggie. It’s not about the amount of albums in the discography that makes a great, it’s impact/influence. BIG was respected and held as a GOAT in the era when the amount of emcees were DEEP.
Everybody love dead rappers more. Don’t know what his legacy would’ve been if he ain’t have a sample size run and stuck around 15 years. I’ve seen 50 have the most impactful run ever and look how that ended musically. Rest his soul X in a lot of places was bigger than hov and look how that turned out.

 @ my point immediately being proven I'll make sure to bring it up for Game

But ya’ll let a lot these no talent having, trash a**** rappers play on rookie mode....
They catalog not being analyzed, and they definitely not being regarded as Top 5

The catalog discussion def is subjective. Ross first two albums were above average to okay, especially in comparison to other rap greats.

Idk if Ross had any classics, but if he does, it’s definitely one or both of those two
Everyone keeps parading it as a classic. It’s definitely arguable. Sort of like American Gangsta or It Was Written, Stillmatic, etc.

I thought they were really good albums. I felt Don had less fat, whereas Deeper Than Rap did. One positive about Roze is he’s consistent. He’s also stood toe to toe with the greats, Pusha, Jay, Nas, Wayne, Drake, etc.

different time different era. Ross would have been basura in 93-96 and would of been unknown. especially as a ex CO lol..
he would of got 🤡
