Yeah, actual CDs don’t sell like that. Doesn’t make sense to make them. I’m still mad cause I buy CDs, I don’t buy anything digital. Was a ***** finding Jay Rock’s CD and a few new albums I wanted to buy weren’t on CD so I didn’t buy

It's not fiscally efficient to be producing CD's anymore and business is about supply & demand.

What's lamer than physicals being phased out is making physicals just to lose money & appease to a select few who will cop it. Losing money aint cool

The record companies want all of that

Folks think streaming

Less shimpments to stores they have to do
Less overhead
Record companies getting and keeping all that

equates to a royalty? every spin/play/sale/stream has royalties on them (minimum 30 seconds for a stream, including youtube). artists get what they negotiate or the agreement that they sign to

Physical media is something I can't see going away, but "phasing" it out just gives people more incentive to go digital.

Realistically, at the current state of hip-hop, it's a wise decision to probably buy up all the **** now before the physical prices go up or stay the same if it ever reaches a point of made-to-order releases exclusively.

Could always keep an eye out on YouTube to recreate the days of old...TRL, 106 and Park, The Basement. Etc, etc.
