QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Ok, so, they play a Monday night game, Weeden ties the score, they put Romo back in, he coughs it up.

Coughs it up? Are you being serious or just talking just to talk?

You make it tough to acknowledge and respond to some of the B.S. you say. JJs07 type B.S...

So because Brandon Weeden (who sucks)... came in and did what he does best (which is suck)... that in turn means that Tony Romo is the MVP of the Cowboys?

To say the Cowboys would be where they are today without Murray is debatable.

To say the Cowboys would be where they are today without Romo is not even a conversation.

So...he didn't come in in the 4th, in a tie game, and fumble near his own goalline? Or get the intentional grounding?

He was hurt, but he came back into the game to play and take over, for a QB that had just driven down the field and tied it, yes? Am I forgetting something about that game late?

This year it's the O-line.

I honestly believe anybody who says the O-Line is the MVP of the Cowboys is playing into the whole narrative.

You dudes have heard it so much over the season that you believe Ryan Lindley could come in and have the same success.

Well I mean NT does believe the Hawks win the SB with Lindley as the QB last year

i've always been a Romo guy and i find it funny that when he actually has a team around him (ala Peyton Manning last year and early this year)...he gets discredited in terms of how important he's been to Dallas' success this year.

everyone was cool with Peyton winning MVP last year and early on this year. dude had all pro talent all over the place.

I can agree with this.

We can say this for several teams, can't we?

Look at the Packers last year. Didn't they lose 5 times, and a tie without Rodgers in 8 games he missed? But they won 6 of the 7 games he played fully.

Then he comes back this year and goes on that 34/2 TD/INT streak, winning 10 of 12.

*shrugs*

When he came back into the game with under 2 min left at his own 3 yard line? The fumble and the intentional grounding that were caused by a free rusher both times?

....and the QB that you're saying that he took over for? Brandon ******* Weeden correct?

I just watched you absolved Luck of a loss and any wrongdoing and say he had no chance of winning that game with about 5 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. LOL.

JJs type B.S. you're giving me here chief...

The O-line is the one known variable that's changed for the Cowboys and has proven to get them over the hump. I've defended Romo for years and this is great for me to watch, but when you talk about MVP, you're talking about variables like I mentioned that change from year to year. If we're talking about worth to the team, then of course Romo can be MVP. But like mentioneed, so can a lot of other quarterbacks. Romo's effieciency is a direct correlation to improved offensive line play. That efficiency has led to more wins for the Cowboys. Cause and effect and it starts up front.

Not for one that apparently still has 2 other Top 5 MVP candidates in Murray and the O-Line.

So do you just want Romo considered a candidate or do you think he should win it?

Candidate. As far as I'm concerned it's between him and Rodgers.

I barely visit this board anymore but you can't name one time in this thread or on this board where Romo's name was brought up in the discussion. Not once.

Works both ways dude.

You're trying to pin the loss on Luck, but clear Romo on some "free rusher" mess. Bro, "free rusher" is every snap for Andrew Luck and his oline, so.... :lol

You realize I'm using your logic with Luck, in terms of that Skins game with Romo, right? So we either absolve em both, or pin them both. I'll let you choose.

I don't know how you did it but once again you have managed to make this conversation about Luck. I would've never thought you could make it happen when the discussion is about Romo as a MVP candidate, but clearly your mission isn't complete this season with this dude.

Bravo chief. Bravo...

I'm guessing today is the first day people are really considering him, maybe should've occurred a week or so ago. And he was mentioned a few times in the other thread (I thought) today...

Does anyone here think Tony is outside the top five MVP candidates this year?

Uh, maybe because you brought him up? :lol

Watt
Rodgers
Romo
Brady
Murray

Would be my top 5. Never mentioned Romo, because we've only been speaking on who we thought would win between Rodgers and Watt for the past month or so.

You dudes have heard it so much over the season that you believe Ryan Lindley could come in and have the same success.

Out of the top 10 QBs in the league, Romo has the best line. You could throw in some average QBs and Dallas would still be around a 9 or 10 win team. Murray would just continue to run the ball. It's that simple.

Russell dominated in the playoffs and SB last year. No way could another QB put on a show like that when it mattered most........

and what in the **** is up with NT wanting players to be considered, not even win it. But just have their name in the convo. Hahahaha, what a ******* joke. A few weeks ago half the board was mad Watt wasn't even mentioned, after that it was Russell and now it's Romo. They don't deserve the award but deserved to at least be mentioned.......well then.

I thought the Romo comment was awful and then I read the RW one.

Sheesh.

:rollin :rollin :rollin

I hope you know this was sarcasm at it's best. I don't think I've ever seen a QB be such a non factor in the playoffs or SB win. Colt McCoy, Tannehill or Sanchez could have won that ring last year.

Feel free to present, you're trying to flip it to make it seem like it's people against Dallas but you're just a huge homer. I've had Romo in the list of top 10 QBs for the last few years. He's a good QB but you are a fool if you think he's the MVP of the league. He has the best O line and an RB that is leading the league in yards. Romo's job is easier than ever, no pressure and they don't want him to throw the ball that much.

A QB, that their HC and GM don't want throwing the ball too much to avoid him losing the game deserves the MVP award? That sounds ridiculous.

I think romo deserves to be in the running but I don't think he'll get it because voters will split between Murray and romo. Teams with 2 candidates always have that happen.

Whew. Completely over my head that went. I'm tryin to rep you but it's not letting me. How many reps can you give in a day? I don't think I should be out, it's barely noon over here. I don't think I've repped anyone today except Champ in the Redraft thread. :\

Like I said NT has some of the dumbest logic brought up to make an argument
