QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Buffalo back to back weeks vs Peyton and Rodgers borderline 85 Bears like. 0 TD's, 4 picks. Crazy.

and tommy boy tore them a good one @ buffalo earlier in the season especially in the 2nd half

but buffalo has been playing better and picked up steam so it'll be interesting one for the season finale.  oh yeah, i might be at the game :)

buffalo's defense is no doubt legit. if we didn't have the interdivisional familiarity with them, i'm sure our games would be even closer. their front is always good is creating trouble up front and they've got a couple guys that can make plays in the back.

that said, bet five that we get some stat from Frail or Retro on drops by Packer receivers this week. that Jordy drop was freakin' awful. never thought he would let that one hit that turf

So Houston has played themselves out of MM.

(Which I knew they would)

Anyone got any insight on Petty, Cook or Mannion?

Realistically that's how it's looking.
Not too much. My college football viewing has dropped considerable, but with those options, may as well wait until the 4th round and see what's left because none of those guys are too appealing. You could also hope that Winston's character issues have him falling to the 2nd round and grab him there.

Mannion was one of those guys coming into this season who was expected to separate himself among other NFL QB prospects, but from everything I saw of Oregon State, he actually went in reverse of that.

Cook might be capable, but not sure how we can expect anything different from his predecessors of Hoyer and Cousins.

Derek Carr has a 4.93 YPA over past seven games/280 passes. 5.06 or below in 6-of-7 starts. 3.96 on Sunday. Legendarily bad.

Yikes.

Agree with Jaws about Mannion, but with one slight modification: Oregon State was a dumpster fire this year. Offense as a whole seemed completely out of sorts. Mannion didn't help himself by missing wide open throws and showing some terrible accuracy, though. Still think he could be a solid NFL guy... dunno if he's a starter anymore.

Never been high on Petty. Cook is the next guy after MM8 and Jameis but eh, once again, not too high on him.

Manziel looked pretty bad. Poor mechanics, staring down receivers. Not a good showing

This thread been quiet all damn year after his bad games, and after his 1 single good game, where he won the Pepsi rookie of the Week, whatever the **** that is, he deserves praise? :lol

:lol :lol :lol at quiet after last week.

Kind of hard running read option when the running back runs the wrong way

What makes you think it was the RB who went the wrong way?

He also made some poor decisions in the read option in terms of keeping or handing off.

Nobody uses laugh emoticons than CP.

Not 1 person mentioned his performance vs 49ers but has a bad game and look who comes to the party :lol

Because on the right side of the line they blocked everybody. On the left side of the line they left the last man unblocked. That's the guy you're reading in the read option. That's the guy who came free and tackled Manziel.

:hat

The honest reason I didn't mention that game last week was I didn't check in on it. I was heavy on the Seattle/Philly game. I didn't comment on a game I didn't watch is all. I'm not sure if they won by running, or defense, or Special Teams, or if Carr destroyed the 9er D, that was missing several players. I didn't see, so I didn't say.

I saw Geno Smith win a game in the Atlanta dome last year. Like his 3rd career game or something like that. He still sucks, big time. But he won a game vs a good team.
Carr beating a 9er squad that has clearly not lived up to expectations doesn't exactly merit a ton of praise, does it? Especially when the whole reason this Carr talk began was a few guys hyping the living hell out of him in the preseason. (Not you, others in the NFL thread)

When I see him playin well, and lookin good, I will praise him. You have my word on that.

Yup, RB messed that one up, unless it wasn't a option. Who knows, doesn't matter. I think OVO could be a top 10 starter in the L in a couple years

The QB class(es) incoming are not strong at all.

Mariota, Jameis, Hundley, Petty, Mannion, Cook, Hogan, Dak Prescott, there just isn't a lot there. :(

And we're 2 years away from Peyton, Brady, and Brees being gone, it could get real ugly, real quick if some of these guys don't start panning out.

****, 2 years ago I thought the NFL was gonna flood with signal callers. Think the flooding is just GM tears now. :lol
