QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Cam doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves. With everyone chomping at the bit to say Luck has no one around him, I'm curious to see if they give Cam the same respect this year. (Spoiler: they haven't and they won't.)

stafford @ 5?!?! even if fantasy football (two words that don't belong in this thread) was one of the factors to judge QBs, that guy is nowhere near that tier of QBs :lol

Eli Manning

-Negatives-
--Has thrown 30 or more touchdowns once
--Has thrown 20 or more interceptions 3 times
--Has thrown double-digit interceptions every full season he's played
--Has a career completion percentage of 58.5%
--Has a career QB rating of 81.2
--Hasn't made the playoffs in 4 of his 9 professional seasons
--Has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in 3 of his 5 appearances
--Has never been selected to an All-Pro Team
--Has never won an NFL MVP award

-Positives-
--He's won 2 Super Bowls and 2 Super Bowl MVPs
--He's durable

That's all I've got.

This thread caught me right in the feels this morn.

I remember y'all used to laugh at me for callin Eli overrated...

The truth is coming out I see. :smokin

I found this to be pretty funny reading about the new Madden.

In past versions of Madden NFL, any quarterback could consistently shred an opposing defense with accurate passes. But in Madden NFL 15, the quarterback accuracy rating (THA), situation, and scenario have never been more important.

QBs now throw a number of inaccurate passes determined by their accuracy ratings and pocket pressure, with the level of accuracy ranging from “very inaccurate” to “perfect.” As in the real NFL, there's a much higher chance of being inaccurate when under pressure.

When building your offensive strategy, be sure to consult your quarterback’s three accuracy ratings: THA Short, THA Mid and THP Deep. Accurate throwers like Philip Rivers and Drew Brees will be able to pinpoint their throws more effectively than less accurate quarterbacks like Geno Smith and Eli Manning.

Of all the people they could have put along side of Geno :lol

He hasn't been the same player. This no run game is killing him and CJ81.

No run game? Reggie And joique combined for like 1600 last year

and im talkin about the 5k yard year. Got him in like the 10th rd. My team was so stacked. Cool dude too. Golfed with him on 2 occasions.

I hate andrew luck. Never truat anyone with mutton chops

Also sounds like it will be an annoying gameplay feature

This thread should be fun.

I look forward to another solid season from Ben. I think the improved oline and run game should greatly benefit if he stays healthy

Yeah you are right, I guess a better word would have been a "better" run game instead of no run game. Felt like Bush and Bell weren't that great last year because I had both of them on my fantasy roster and they weren't that consistent.

Coaching and play selection killed Stafford last year.

He's defnatly top 10 QB. Eli not so much.

I've never been a fan of Eli. When throws a pic and does that big baby pouting face like he didn't just launch a duck >:

I also hate the fact that he lucked up and got two rings while my boy Rivers won't sniff one :{

It'd be cool to see rivers get one and then the 04 class all has one

What's even more messed up in my opinion is that he has more rings than Peyton.

All the guys that have one and Dan doesn't. Nobody could throw the ball like him. How did he and Shula never get one together?!

I was watching the ESPY , I was telling my wife that I bet Marino is so pissed about all the new quarterbacks breaking his records when he was the greatest pure quarterback talent ever

85, 86, 87, 88, 89 First Round picks.

The most horrible 5 year stretch in NFL history. Completely wasted Marino's prime. Atrocious.

Jimmy in 3 drafts pulled Gardener, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Derrick Rodgers, Sam Madison, and Patrick Surtain. On top of Abdul Jabar, and signing T Buckley, Brock Marion, and Trace Armstrong.

By then Dan was at the end and it was too late. :{

Shula shoulda been brought up on charges for those drafts.

Abdul jabbar was average... Barely cracking a 1000 like 2 seasons...dude didn't have a good running game forever...they were happy when they found a average rb...

I'll take Dan over elway all day even wit the rings..

As a fan of the NFL in general, I kind of want to see how good Luck can be if he can just stop turning the ball over so many times. I wish he would take off every now and then too because he's got great athleticism that no one really acknowledges because he's white.

As a Texans fan though, he can go ahead and chill :lol

John Offerdahl was a great pick for the Dolphins, the other draft picks from that time were not great

Those 1,100 yard years with 10+ TD's with prime Dan would have spelled doom for opposing D's. Not 96-97 Dan.
