QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Any time you can play an entire half of football and only have 4 completions and still be in the game..........

Brady threw a TD to LaFell, Gronk, Amendola, and Edleman, while Vereen had 11 catches.

Russ had 12 completions. Vereen 11 catches. :lol

Brees, Peyton, and Rodgers combined for 4 TD's the last 3 playoff games vs this defense. Brady had 4 by himself. :{

Yet the cruel irony of it all, from Tyree, to Manningham, to now Kearse, Brady almost lost his 3rd straight SuperBowl on the most bull **** of catches. :lol :lol :lol

After that catch I thought 'football Gods do exist' and TB did something to p*ss them off :lol

Nothing bull **** about the Manningham catch, everything about it was perfect.

Patriots also dominated the time of possession the first half, and Russel only threw in third and long situations. And even when he tried to buy time and extended plays after the pocket collapsed, the Pats secondary played very well and there weren't any targets to throw to.

Brady also averaged 6 yards a pass, while Russ averaged over 11. Different game plans and different contexts.

The Kearse play was luck. Tyree went up and grabbed that ball, he wanted it more than Harrison and the fact is they had that great offense and only scored 14 points. The Manningham play was flat out great. We can praise Tom Brady but let's not make excuses for his loses.

Maybe bull **** isn't the right word, how about "miracle" of catches between Tyree, Manningham, and Kearse? 3 Miracle grabs. Sound better?

Anyhoo, my updated chart on QB's in the playoffs. Brady basically has everything.

They are 3 different type of plays though. :lol

The Manningham play was a great throw and catch that they practiced. If that's your definition of miracle...

^Agreed. Didn't really understand how/why the announcers last night kept trying to discredit the 2011 Giants title with the Manningham catch. Then again, the whole evening was a New England/Brady slurp fest so I shouldn't have been surprised.

Yeah, 12 yard line, 4th quarter of the Super Bowl, between 2 defenders, toes on the sideline......

That's a miracle. :lol

Incredible play by both of them, but that's a flat out miracle play. NE had everything the way they wanted it at that moment, and then that happened.

Clearly Tyree is the #1 miracle, Kearse the #2, and Manningham may be way down on the list, that's fine, but it's a similar play to the other two in that it was...."unlikely". How's that?

I thought Bill and Brady were going to lose on a 3rd "unlikely" reception in the Super Bowl.

After that catch I thought 'football Gods do exist' and TB did something to p*ss them off :lol

I was thinking the same thing.

First Tyree and now this catch. Thought this team was cursed for sure.

Mario's catch wasn't luck, great throw and a great catch. Knew he was inbounds as soon as it happened. Gotta pic of that catch signed and framed :smokin :smokin :smokin

Russ about to go from making $600k to $20 million. Will be interesting to see what the Seahawks do about weapons on offense.

I guess every time somebody makes a great toe tap catch it's a miracle. I'm sleep. :lol

They're good as long as they got Russell's well to win.

Russell Wilson made some great throws last night but his receivers besides Matthews were horrible

The Seahawks couldnt beat straight man, Russell was smart not to force it

The last throw is on both him and the receiver

Eli to Manningham was just excellent execution, they missed on two similar plays in the game too when Manningham was hugging the sideline, this time Eli put it in a spot where he could get it. They even had a graphic ready for Manningham after the failed second attempt as if they knew he had that issue :lol

The amazing that about that play was that was the very FIRST play after the Pats long drive from the ten yard line. You knew it was over right after that.

Yeah, I don't put the Manningham catch in the same category as the Tyree/Kearse stuff. Just an incredible throw and catch.

No doubt. I'm not discrediting Eli or Mario on the play, it was an AMAZING throw/catch. But late in the Super Bowl, trailing? Between 2 defenders? Backed up? Just an unreal circumstance, and they nailed it.

Like you said, you knew when that play happened, what was coming next. That's why I am comparing to Tyree, and then Kearse last night. The circumstance of Brady/Bill losing on yet another (as I say, Miracle) grab.

You laugh all you want

Its like some of yall want Wilson to make receivers open, none of their receivers beat man besides Matthews

I can't think of a bad throw in the game besides the last throw

:lol :lol :lol

I think you watch football with your eyes closed.

Just a hunch.

Thats cool you can think that all you want

I can't think of the bad decisions Wilson made last night besides the last throw

Throwing receivers open.... hmmmmm....

4 completions in the first half. We have a jump ball to Matthews, the jump ball TD to Matthews. The first completion of the game, a 6 yard throw to Kearse that they gave them a first down on. And then a solid throw to Lockette before half.

His 2nd TD was the ref pick play on Revis, Russ lobs it into the end zone, dude open by about 8 yards. The hail mary throw to Kearse that he caught on his back, another jump ball throw to Matthews......A DIME to Lynch. A DIME to Kearse (dropped)

Nice throw to Lockette late in the 3rd. Also a first down throw to Lockette on the final drive.

So, on 12 completions, about 4 of them were jump ball types to Matthews and the miracle to Kearse. Is that......8 regular ol completions, in a Super Bowl, an entire game the rest of the way? That's what I'm seein?

Everything else was Lynch, the Turbin 19 yard run before half (that started that drive off and was later aided by the 15 yard facemask) and Russ had 39 yards on the ground, those were his best plays outside the throw to Lynch and the jump balls.

Yet, somehow, he had a 110 rating on the day. :lol 8o

He also threw the most interceptions in the playoffs this year. Even tho he threw about 60 passes less than other guys. But hey, let us continue to praise thee. :lol

Seemed like it is less bad decisions but more 'no decisions' which is being criticized

3 of the throws to Matthews were good throws, put the ball where only his guy could get it

Russell Wilson was playing with a guy who was working at Foot Locker

Foot Locker?

Do you realize how ridiculous that is?

Remember how you cried about Marino having to play with the UPS guy?
