And the ring argument is getting played out. Bill Russell has 11 rings, so according to that logic that make him better than MJ right?

that's not the point.<

its like, you can't be in a ferrari club when you don't have a ferarri.

Because winning in TEAM sports involves being on a TEAM. See Kobe this year, see D-Rose as well. And spare the "But one player can help his team in basketball more than other sports" argument. That is true..but it's still a team sport first and the better teams win.

Well the same argument can be made for Lebron, who is probably the closest thing to Magic that the league has ever seen. A player who can play #1-4 and arguably be the considered the best at each position is insane.
I hate comparing players because it's an endless debate though. More people need to just chill and appreciate watching great players do their thing.

how could you be considered the best at one sport when you main purpose is to win rings, and you don't have one.

its like, you can't be in a ferrari club when you don't have a ferarri.
Because last I checked you don't play basketball 1 on 1.

Applaud this man.

I agree with some of this. but the bottom line is his "ways to go" is no longer achievable because: he took his talents to south beach x defensive rule changes x scoring ability

but remove all that its not out of the realm of possibility

Those are just the excuses ppl use to discredit dude. Joining up with Wade is the smartest thing he's done. I don't like it, but its smart. No one did it alone. Kobe, MJ, Magic, Kareem, Bird, all had top tier help. But you know that and so does everyone else, as much as ya'll deny it. And as for the rules changes, that also inconsequential. Back in the day good help was easy to find. Every good team had a starting 5 with talented to great players. Now you get 2 or 3 decent to talented players maybe and a couple serviceable role players. When Bron was in Cleveland he played with nothing but serviceable role players who he made look decent and was expected to win it all. The fact that he almost did it speaks volumes to his individual talent. But ppl continue to act like MJ would've won with that squad lol.
Bottom line is anyone being objective will consider the totality of the circumstances when its all said and done, and not just whether rings were won.

Wait. So when Scottie endorsed Rose as MVP, folks pumped up that co-sign but when Scottie says that Lebron is a better all-around player than Jordan (captain obvious) he's smoking crack?
