I can understand why someone would want to eat an alternative pork product.

I've been trying almond milk. Not really a fan. I tried soy milk years ago and didn't like it. I would try rice milk too but my grocery store doesn't have it.
because many do it for health issuesWhat's the point of cutting something out of your diet , to eat a fake version of it ?

It's like being a lesbian and using a dildo because "you don't need no man."
Or being a lesbian that's attracted to women who try to copy the mannerisms/dress like men
Because if you act like a man and dress like a man you're a man right? It's like being a lesbian and using a dildo because "you don't need no man."

A vegan/plant based thread would be awesome!
so your gf doesn't use any animal products? like leather? My GF has been a vegan now for 3 years, she went to a Plant Based Nutrition course and now cooks all meals at home. I have to say that I really enjoy her cooking and like the idea of not eating animals. Every now and then I'll have a burger or steak when we out at restaurants, but I feel much better without the consumption of animal products. The healthy Organic/Vegetarian movement is growing, more and more people are demanding for it.
I understand there are the loud, in your face, elistist thinking vegans, that think they're better than everyone else but most of them are really down to earth not all "hippies" as society would label them.
Someone asked why would you eat a fake version of something, some people do it for health reasons. Moc Meats tend to have 1/3 of the calories of a regular piece of meat and more nutrients.
I suggest everyone to have an open mind, and do some more research. 2 great documentaries to watch are 'Pure Plant Nation" and " Forks over Knives", if you have Netflix.

I'm very fortunate for my girlfriend as well. She really enjoys cooking and has made my plant based diet so much easier. Before I gave up meat and dairy, she already experimented in preparing vegan meals. She hasn't completely converted though. She consumes animal products probably only 3-5 meals each week.
I got a homeboy, dude is gutta, but wont eat meat or dairy products to save his life, but stays po'd up wit all kind of sodas and syrup.
I need meat in my mouth and stomach.
I can get jiggy wit eatin healthy but Whole foods is as far as ill go.
These animals are here for us to eat not look at and try to feel sympathy for em.
