"OTHER BRAND" - RUNNING shoe thread - asics, saucony, new balance, hoka one one, adidas, reebok, brooks, altra, skechers, etc...

In hand shot of the NYC Marathon Speeds and the box.

Digging them more than I thought I would but not sure if should return and wait for the Citron colourway which I prefer. Kind of feel like eating some skittles after looking at them too lol

I just noticed for the first time this morning that the Speeds, like the Xodus 10s, have a lace loop. Not sure it's needed for my size, but if you have a lot of extra lace, it could be useful.

Knocked out a half on singletrack with these yesterday. My fave trail shoe so far. The mid and outsole are really good and the shoes are surprisingly versatile.

I really want to try out the Inov-8 Terraultra G 270 next.

Man.. just ran in my brooks adrenaline 19s for an easy run cause I wasn’t all that eager and just wanted to get in couple miles

good lord could I feel the difference in weight since I’m using my kinvara 11s mostly.. think there’s a 3 oz difference but didn’t fully appreciate how much that was

IATT IATT You'll love the Balega socks, really good, super comfy and not too thick or thin!

Normally go Stance, Balega or Nike!

maybe it was just the balegas I got (enduro quarter), but was not a fan

luckily i can send them back.. going try some CEP socks

was thinking about stance, but they just look ultra thin.. I’d get those if I actually ran races

I have tried so many different socks and have yet to find that perfect pair. There are a lot of good pairs out there though. Balega Silvers are really comfy but tend to overheat in the summer. I like the stance crew running socks but have yet to try the ankle or no shows. Road Runner's R-Gear socks actually might be at the top of my list. They have 4 different cushion levels just for ankle socks alone but the colors are super basic. The fabric feels great on foot though.

Feeetures are the best I’ve tried

going try bombas performance socks and CEP ones

IATT IATT Which Feetures socks you get? Minimal, medium, or maximum cushioning?

Believeintherun's review on Carbon X v2. They said the midsole is not too firm or soft. Well I guess we need to try them ourselves to find out. 🤷‍♂️

I've seen/read other reviews and the consensus seems to be that the X2 is softer than the X1. I believe the bulk of/upper layer of midsole is the same foam used in the Rocket X (which I have) which is significantly softer than the X1. Will probably pick up the X2 when it comes out.

Saucony is on a good streak when it comes to colorways! They absolutely killed this one! I’m certainly scooping these up.

Those are real--the original pics were taken by the Believe in the Run guys who have them in hand.

I need to see the soles.. I’ve had the 11s for like a month and change now I think

and while I love them, I’m probably going send them back.. because I love them but for 1 thing, if you check the sole of the shoe underneath the arch there seems to be something

now I know with saucony and most of their shoes, they have a hint of stability elements built in (I think the endorphin speeds and pros are the exceptions)

but I’ve noticed with the kinvara 11s no matter what socks I wear with them or what type of run I’m doing in them, I’m getting pain right in the arches of my feet.. and it wasn’t until I was watching a review from kofuzi on them that I realized that portion of the sole is probably what is causing the issue in for an otherwise fantastic shoe (only other complaint I would have is I think they could have cut down on some of the upper material)

you can see it here

i felt the slight hint of stability in it too, but was never a big issue for me. the shoe got so much better once i put more miles on them and they became a big favorite of mine before retiring them earlier this summer. not the biggest fan of the drop, but they worked for me

the 12s look really nice and hoping the ride on them is as good
