if you say so...

and yes, that was a long run on sentence.

And to a certain extent (IMO) yes. Not you specifically but some of you seem to believe follow it no questions asked at all and that feels like complete naivety to me

how am i perceiving this situation blindly if i see both side of the discussion and chose to side with the persons that are more credible and puts forth more evidence to back its claims up?
your naivete is believing in a conspiracy that holds no merit.

like i stated earlier: skepticism is warranted in this situation, ignorance is not.
May I see it?

And I have never said I believed any conspiracies so ignorance is not warranted...at least in this situation

"President Barack Obama said on Wednesday he had decided not to release photographs of Osama bin Laden's body because they could have incited violence and been used as an al Qaeda propaganda tool."

Thank you Obama!
I think you are being sarcastic, but let's break down how dumb this way of thinking is.
The SP creators, the Danish cartoonists, the Florida minister....all created new targets (themselves) through their actions. No one was actively trying to murder them before they took action.

On the other hand,

The US govt/troops have already been targets and will continue to be so whether or not pictures are released.

Killing the man is fine, but we really gotta watch our backs if we show a picture
laugh.gif

So the pictures of Abu Ghraib when released didn't incite more violence and suicide bombings because after all with your logic "the US govt/troops have already been targets"
eyes.gif

But you're right... idiots like the picture below won't be further upset that the US is showing pictures of a dead Usama. Got it champ.

Not a good comparison.

We've been trying to kill Osama since the 90's, everyone already knows this. Now that we have actually killed him, is just the fact that we release a photo of him dead going to suddenly send people over the edge that much more than the killing itself ? No. Let's not be naive enough to think someone will wake up out of bed, hear Osama is dead, and go about his day; but this same person will wake up out of bed, see a photo of Osama dead, and go become a suicide bomber ?
laugh.gif
Those who would find the photo that inflammatory are already our "enemies".
If anything releasing the photos does serious morale damage. Instead of remembering Osama from the tapes, the last image will be of him bloodied and dead. The myth/legend takes a blow.

The Abu Ghraib leak revealed previously unknown information, so obviously there is a reaction there. Seeing photos of detainees on dog leashes/stacked in naked pyramids is not something they've known about for over a decade. Common sense here. For a better comparison consider the release of Zarqawi's death photo or Abu Ayyub al-Masri's death photo or Uday/Qusay's death photos, or Saddam's death photo.

May 2nd, though? They left the body there all bloody for 2 days?

umm... time difference?

Didn't they say they did it on Saturday and it was confirmed on Sunday?
Originally, the mission was to take place Saturday.  It was scrubbed due to heavy cloud cover in the region and moved to Sunday.

No pictures, No video = No Bin Laden death

I still think they should've captured him if it was really him.

Thanks for posting this.  I know you laugh yet this is exactly the reason why the photos will not be released.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.

Not offending Muslims? Occupying 2 Muslim countries for almost 10 years now doesn't incite muslins?
This is the same Obama who escalated drone strikes in Waziristan., Pakistan where they "believed" OBL was? These strikes have killed hundreds of civilians. This doesn't incite Muslims?
Do people even think critically anymore? Since when do we give a #$!! about inciting Muslims? Since supporting all the Arab dictators? Since aiding Israel to the tune of $4bn?

The reason why they're not releasing the photos is because they want the media circus to go on. They want people to talk about this instead of the USD heading toward 3 year lows or oil (and commodities)climbing toward 3 year highs, employment being stagnant and 15% of Americans receiving welfare.

Look at what happened to Bush's rating vis-a-vis Hussein. They released the photos immediately after capture and all he got was a 2 week poll bump. Same would happen with Obama. They want to drag this out as long as possible in order to provide a lasting effect on his poll numbers.

lol at not wanting to incite Muslims. Are people really this gullible?
