Fast 9

......

Well......they definitely went off course....
I LOVED the flashback to Dom's dad. That was just awesome stuff. That was a really great way to open the film.

I didn't agree with the Lety goin off to help without Dom, or the Mia without Brian angle. I know WHY they felt they had to do it, but it wasn't right.

The Han stuff.......maaaaaan. Hey, I'm glad he's back, I assume they never realized what his death would mean, but now to walk back Statham as well....

Space......the internet joked about that before it was cool, now they listenin to us. :smh:

Dom took on 25 guys, pulled a building down with some chains and came out with a clean white Tee.....

What is with Charlize hair?
Make her hot God damn it.

No live scenes of Kurt Russell was bad.

No Rock or Statham (til credits) was bad.

Credit scene was 🔥🔥🔥 tho

They shifted, and used nos.....in space.....

You can't tell me this wasn't The Avengers 5.

I mean the movie was not a black trauma movie for the sake of black trauma. It's based on real events.

I feel like black ppl have been overloaded with some black trauma in real life that they're missing the historical significance and other messages these movies provide. At its core it has the typical perseverance, never giving up hope, under dog tropes all movies have.

I can understand the lack of entertainment.

To add on to this...

I can respect when an individual gets uncomfortable watching "black trauma" movies, especially those with slavery. However, I personally feel that the (social media?) trend of black people speaking against such movies is dangerous.

Even in 2021, I think it's safe to say that the general population (myself included) does not read as much as we should. Imo, shutting the door on movies about the painful history Black people have had in America is one step closer to forgetting about it...and that is the last thing that needs to happen.

**This is just my opinion as a Black man, not saying it is right or wrong**

This is madness

I only clicked on it thinking I stumbled across softcore porn with Denise Richards.

Crisis 5.25/8

Nothing special at all. Squandered a pretty decent cast of Armie Hammer, Gary Oldman and Greg Kinnear. I was thinking Traffic (obviously not as good) going in, but it didn't come remotely close.

Snake Eyes.......was a movie.

That sadly, is close to what I wanted.

Ninjas on motorcycles with swords and machine guns. It's like they tapped into my beating heart.

Only thing I needed was Keanu Reeves to roll past like switchin lanes or somethin and I would have simultaneously combusted.

Snake and Storm Shadow were the **** in that cartoon, they were elite in the previous two GI Joe movies as well. It's the right play.

But it ain't gonna work. Nobody gonna be ok with this movie or the franchise. Unless they try to really really really tone it down to just some elite Navy Seal types, it's too hokey a storyline with all the "extra" they put on their skills. Sorry, ridin a speeding motorcycle backwards (no hands on the accelerator......sooooo why is the bike still moving????) and doin a backflip to avoid two swords........but still landin on the speeding motorcycle.......(did he backflip forwards????) is a really tough pull.

John Wick, we in on the joke.
Fast Furious, we in on the joke.
James Bond, we in on the joke.

Can't have that in GI Joe and expect people to follow. Magic, giant snakes.......like I said, gotta tone that down and try a more realistic approach. You can have spies and guns and hand to hand and ninja ****, but don't insult us with snakes and magic sun stones & ****.

I enjoyed it for what it was, I still think they COULD make a pretty good franchise out of it, honestly could MCU it if done properly, but they won't go that route. It's a shame.

No report back on Old.

Every 30 minutes you spend watching "Old" is another year off your life. RIP walkingBred walkingBred .

Old

Maaaaaan......F Rotten tomatoes:lol: I thought it was a pretty damm good movie. DISCLAIMER: I tend to like MNS's movies😁. The suspense kept me in it and I liked the ending. Surprised how much I enjoyed it since I kept bracing myself for it to go downhill or drag, but it just never did. Some funny parts hit at the right time too. I guess based on the reviews ppl wanted more time for the characters to reflect on what was going on and some said it was a bit all over the place, but the chaos seemed to fit the movie for me. I might be in the minority and some of y'all might not like it but I thought it was solid and would recommend. On another note... I'm noticing Alex Wolff has been on a roll lately. Hereditary, Pig, and Old.

Also, if the movies was crammed into a song it would probably be this

Nah nothing wrong with the RT score. It looks like pretty split down the middle..half of critics/audiences hate it and the other half like it

True. I tend to lean towards liking his movies. I even like that one with the creepy Grandma lol.

Not gonna lie tho, there ARE some cheesy things about "Old". One of the characters names in particular lol. That's all I'm gonna say about that. And there's scenes where I laughed but later wasn't exactly sure if It was meant to be funny. But even with all that, I still appreciated the the whole Survivor/Twilight Zone aspect of it which I'm always down for.

The Captain (2017)

How did I miss this movie? One of the best movies I've seen in a min. Based on a true story, and the story was absolutely insane. The journey and decisions this man made and the things he got away with were shocking. Everything just kept escalating and the stakes kept getting higher and higher. I was captivated the entire time. The cringe moments were real for me. Perfect for the not so traditional WWII movie from a perspective that has never really been shown before.

The ending was sort of far fetched in the sense that the two grown-up siblings could perform a takedown of this company they have no real evidence over. Suddenly they’re just shuttered even though we’d know it be a royal denial and calling those two siblings crazy and such, we don’t know who they are, etc. I was 100% with the movie until then (still am as a whole), but thought that the ending was rushed to a conclusion in how believable that would be for the company to flop over.

Also thought they could’ve made the photographers on the top even more creepy, and not M. Night  which decreases any chance of that further
