Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The Superman trailer has a lot happening. Some of the Gunn things I think will really work and then other things I'm a little nervous about but I think they caught a lot of the vibe I was hoping for.

I thought I should let everyone know that the original run (first 20 seasons) of Law & Order is now streaming on Hulu.

It even includes the TV movie Exiled, starring the now-exiled Chris Noth.

I don’t watch this, but always wanted to see how raw those first few seasons were in terms of the content and language :lol sheesh them cable networks and Pluto try to ‘not’ re-air them as much as possible

I can't remember when I first heard of Idris Elba as Bond, but it made complete sense to me from that very first time.

He's too old for it now. Elba is 52. Moore had done four Bond films by that age, but they were really churning them out then. Moore was 58 in his last appearance.

If you have the ad-supported plan on Netflix (paying for a service had always meant you don’t get ads—Niketalk at least understands that)

These movies will say they’re on Netflix, but they’re not available to you

Which is why I have Netflix but am illegally streaming Netflix’s Stand By Me :lol0]

I can't watch youtube without scrolling past rachel zegler hate videos. Almost all are made by men who weren't going to watch snow white anyway. Their obsession to hate her seems like a mental illness. Phoebe Waller-Bridge must be happy she's no longer their main target.

Good luck convincing anyone that this 007 is the suave ladies' man of old. They might as well make him the awkward tech nerd 007 who couldn't charm his way out of a Wi-Fi dead zone.

I didn't want to be the one to say it  But if they make a "traditional" decision I highly, HIGHLY doubt this is the white man they pick

Yes, that part I can guess. But I wonder if we doin one season, or multiple seasons, are they gonna lead it right up to OG Dex S1, or any other type of surprise.

It's the Resurrection piece I'm intrigued by. Looks like they plan on bringin him back for real. Wonder what for.
yeah bro I read that too. meh. Plot armor. 'didn't see him die' there's precedent for cold weather to preserve someone "dying", 'rifle shot went in and out, missed all arteries/organs'

Bring back Dex

ya mean I watched all of Stand By Me without knowing Chris Chambers was River Phoenix. Wtf? :lol

Not the once 1,000-yard receiver huh
Too be fair to you, with the flat top and the baby fat he’s still got in Stand By Me, he doesn’t look exactly like the adult version of himself.

Same with Jerry O’Connell.

Anora was a surprisingly enjoyable film, offering an insightful depiction of the complexities surrounding the life of an adult dancer and escort. It did a great job highlighting the contrast between the illusions these women create and the underlying desperation for a chance at a better life. The film captured this duality with authenticity and nuance.

Anora’s frantic attempts to salvage her marriage were both amusing and predictable, adding a layer of humor to the drama. The ending, while not entirely shocking, felt fitting. You could see it coming—especially with the guy who genuinely showed her affection and care. His moment felt earned, a nice payoff for his role as the emotional anchor in her otherwise tumultuous life.

Without diving too deep into spoilers, the blend of drama and comedy worked well, keeping the story engaging and relatable. If you’re into dramatic comedies that explore raw and imperfect characters, this movie is worth a watch.
