That's kinda the point I've learned tho.

When you add more people, you add more problems.

I've had quite a change in my career the last few years where I've gone from this tiny person in a billion dollar company, to a lil bigger person in a 40 mil company, to now a much bigger person in an 18 mil company and all I've gotten the last 6-9 months is "the dog ate my homework", "my sisters's kid's' nephews 's sons' brother is sick" "she's looking at me" "that's not my job" "I'm tired" blah blah blah blah.........I want to strangle every one of them.

Small group of 5-10 people problems vs 650+ people problems to deal with........I'd walk in front of a bus before lunch.

It is A MIRACLE that I don't drink or do drugs. MIRACLE. It's probably something I should rethink about my daily life.


I just listened to a pod about Gone Girl and Ben wanted one of the camera men to adjust the lighting on a shot by just the slightest degrees to see if Fincher would notice. That dude spotted it in a millisecond. Ben knew that he would, he just wanted to see it up close.
Tarantino talks about how every single tiny detail you see on film is placed there by him. Every hair, every clothing piece, every cigarette, background filler, sound, everything.

The coordination that entails is unimaginable to me, based only off the bs I witness every day in my career now. Those people are basically superheroes imo.

Bruh my cousin is a working actor in Hollywood. He told me he did over 300 auditions for roles this year and got only a few commercials and some tiny bit parts in unknown movies that paid. But he’s like the talk of the town and considered one of the most hire-able guys in the industry right now.

He told me if he tried to live on just his acting money alone, he would be homeless living on the street begging for food and money. He can only survive because he’s also a very successful graphic design business owner. Really puts it into perspective how hard it is for the majority of people in the industry.

I remember people used to say actors were really just waiters who were trying to get acting jobs. An incredibly low percentage of actors in SAG make a lvable wage and that's why the recent actors strike was so important.

I remember Jon Hamm said he would sparingly get work for 10-15 years until he lucked out and got Mad Men. He asked his friend Sarah Silverman if she wanted to audition for a part on the show and she laughed at him because at the time AMC was known for the network showing really old movies.

I heard Wendy McLendon-Covey in an interview last week saying she had a non-acting job until she got the Goldberg’s and it got picked up for multiple season.

Smile is pretty intense. I gotta admit that I underestimated this movie and thought it would be some cheap thrill with the usual generic horror tropes. It sets a great cinematic tone and definitely puts you squarely in the shoes of the lead character.
