Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Ok.......WTF???? I just finished praising Lioness and then Yellowstone ALSO went :eek :eek

Has a writing group/developer/producer whatever ever gone 2 elite episodes on the same day like that?????

I don't mean shared universe like CSI, CSI 6, CSI 52 or whatever, two completely diff shows, diff universe, but same creator.

And I haven't even gotten to Landman ep 3 yet. :lol

Costner gotta be SICK. :lol

Alien: Romulus a solid 6.5/8 for me. Liked everything about it. Fede hit all his best notes for his biggest movie, and it worked. Biggest appreciation was that none of the characters were dumb and just there to fuel the deaths. Some leaps in logic needed but considering the context of the plot points, not going to let little things annoy me. The actors were great all around. Well shot with some amazing visuals. The sound :pimp:

Again, solid 6.5/8 and it might just grow from there.

Listen......this episode of Lioness :eek :hat

My God this series is TENSE. This is incredible stuff. I thought Yellowstone was his bag, naw, this is. Dude got Morgan Freeman F-bombing white house meetings and has me like

I need to check this out. Too many ppl raving about it.

The show, Nobody Wants This, with Kristen Bell and Adam Brody was phenomenal. We watched all 10 episodes in two nights (half hour show).

The supporting cast was hilarious and nailed every role too. The sister of Kristen Bell, who played Willa in Succession, was amazing. Really shows how she was completely a wasted character in Succession :lol

Speak to text so pardon any confusion. Saul Wicked today in IMAX and it is absolutely breathtaking. I feel like it wasn't that much of a musical for musicals. It clearly was, but perhaps the fantastical setting made the costumes and dancing and singing more accessible. I don't know but the colors were vibrant and Chris. The set design and costumes were ******* outrageous. The music itself was strong. The singing was great. The acting was on point like I didn't think we would be discussing Future Academy award winner. Ariana Grande but I feel like she'll be nominated the OG's popping up. The way they did was cool too. And the pacing for a 2 and 1/2 hour movie that was a part 1 of part 2 was done really well. It was just really exceptional filmmaking. It was funny too man like I saw it with the family but I think I might see it again on my own. It'll probably be really popping sound and visually and Dolby as well like it even got me to care about the political mechanism of arts like I was fascinated by it of Oz. Not arts 95 out of 100
Agree with everything you said..Just got home from watching it, although it wasn’t in IMAX..My wife and I only had 1 mutual complaint for the whole film, and that’s that the first song Grande sung was so high pitched that neither of us could understand what she was singing..Somindont know if it was her voice or my theater’s sound, but it had me worried. Then it seemed to calm down and sound “normal”..

This is gonna sound like hyperbole, but I could see Erivo winning Lead and Grande winning supporting Oscars for their performances..And if Part 2 is equal to this then they could go back2back..And of course it’s gonna win Best Picture..

Now watch Lioness and match tonight's episode and find me another Series writer doin **** like this.

(I haven't even added tonight's EP of Landman to boot.)

I just barely started last week.
You never told me Nicole Bae Kidman is in it.
🤦🏻‍♂️
I think I've seen 3 episodes.
Little behind.

No prob fam. You gonna love it. And if you anything like me, you gon wonder how the creator of Yellowstone (a true life cowboy) could also create Lioness, but also Mayor of Kingstown, but also Tulsa King, and now Landman.

Not to even mention Sicario, Wind River, or Those Who Wish Me Dead.

:{

I actually wasn't a fan. It's just a CGI fest with characters making dumb decisions, entirely unbelievable action sequences and plot armor. Alien and Aliens are so great because the motives of every main character are believable and revealed over time, and the use of practical effects. Also, I shouldn't have to go into an Alien movie knowing exactly who is going to die and survive. Even in Aliens, we knew Sigourney would survive, but Hicks? Unexpected. He somehow made it out, and now he's a celebrated character in the franchise because he was rational and level headed about their situation. He showed leadership when nobody else had a spine.

FX has had Predator stuff on the last couple days.
Rewatched the Danny Glover one yesterday.
Holy Christ, that's horrible. 😂
Watching The Predator now (recorded last night). I mean it's better than Predator 2, but nowhere NEAR Predator or Prey.
