Caught this last night and man was it a pleasant surprise. Solid acting and plot.

7.5/10

It does have a similar plot and story beats of a certain Netflix show. But still, great watch. I recommend going in blind to avoid any spoilers.

I was today years old when I learned that Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” was NOT the song that played during the filming of the Say Anything boombox serenade scene. It was added in post-production. (I’m disappointed in myself for not knowing that before). But that’s crazy to me because I instantly see that scene in my head whenever I hear that song.

That's typical. Actors say it's sometimes hard to do scenes like that because they have no reference point, as production will just play a generic track (or nothing at all) until the studio decides what to use. By the time a movie is released, a popular song could have dropped off the charts, so it's best to wait to find the appropriate song.

Oddly enough, that's my favorite that I've watched so far this month Not the best...but my favorite. I do have a couple bangers lined up so it probably won't stand.

I read this within the last year. I'm sure the story will be changed; I honestly don't see how it could be made into a movie as-is.
