Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Yo y'all need to go see Transformers One if you haven't already. That was one of the best origin adaptations I've seen in a long time. The animation was great as well. Top 5 movie I've seen this year fasho.

7.3/8

can’t stop thinking about the substance, might see it again later this week

Demi was so good in this one. As was Qualley

I heard a lot about British Horror before delving deeper. With a few exceptions, it’s pretty overrated

Why is this movie never on Netflix or Hulu? It seems like it’s never streaming anywhere.
Great question. What’s interesting about this film is there was almost always some sort of unattainability attached to it.

It’s like, the movie had its theatrical release, and the options of attaining a physical copy were scarce.

I even recall trying to purchase, or even rent a VHS copy of the film to no avail. This was many years ago, of course.

Many, many moons ago, this thread existed in the Sports area of Niketalk. It started out as a thread about sports movies, but there’s a pretty limited number of those, so it became a thread about movies in general. It had a pretty basic, straightforward name like the “Sports Movie” thread or something similar.

Went on that way for quite a while, but then came along NT member who was an agent of negativity, causing trouble in many threads, and he made it an issue with NT management that we had a movie thread in the Sports forum that only very sporadically involved sports. So, the thread was required to move into the General area. That’s when the name change happened.

IIRC, the regulars in the thread discussed it and came to the consensus it would be better to call the thread something discrete and not just “NT Movie Thread” and so the “Oh, I’m Sorry …” title was created. It has always had “conversation” in it.

That’s how Old Uncle-pappy lawdog1 remembers things. I invite any of the other old timers to let me know if I got anything wrong.
This is absolutely amazing. The origin story of this thread. Thank you for this

Damn, doing a quick thread search and it was always this modern day CIVIL WAR depiction that supposedly isn’t about the what if there was a CIVIL WAR but just an excuse to deal with the main theme.
In fact you pmatic pmatic pretty much commented alone this year in regard, guess that’s why you find me funny?

ANYway, it’s on so I’ll have a watch. A disappointing one to begin.

Jessie made so many bad choices in Civil War.
She was finally alive.
Those bad choices were inevitable after the first one opened her eyes to life outside Missouri farm life.

Lee was definitely okay sacrificing her life for Jessie’s.
Coldest part in the film outside of the needle drop in the first shootout was the last few lines of the film

Joel: Waaaaiiiit!!!!! I need a quote.
President: Don’t let them kill me.
Joel: That’ll do

Close second was Secret Sevice Agent Joy Burnes when she was trying to negotiate the safe surrender of the President and they hit her mid sentence.

I watched the JESSE Plemons scene of Civil War last night, can’t believe they ‘actually’ went down there when Todd was sprinkling the Lyme on dead bodies:lol:

I gotta find a place in Minnesota to see substance

Yo, more of this please. This was the kind of unnerving body horror I thought C uckoo was going to be. Everything hit it's mark, especially the sound design.

7.5/8 would've been a perfect score if the lead actresses were replaced with Sydney Sweeney and Elizabeth Hurley

Moore and Qualley delivered 8/8
