* Offiical NBA Off-Season Thread: I'll give one of my damn kidney's for these Melo rumors to stop *

I can see a Josh Smith + Jamal Crawford trade before the deadline now.

It's funny cuz if Miami starts winning rings and these other '03/'04 draftees team up and start winning rings JJ might be regretting staying with ATL or demanding a trade in a few years himself but maybe he's just all about that $100+

Other than getting Sebastian back

, it's a good trade for Minnesota.

-West's expiring contract
-Dumping the salaries of Ryan Hollins (3yr, 7mil) and Ramon Sessions (4yr,16mil) on the Cavs
-The pick we owe them is a 2nd rounder, and it isn't until 2013

Holy jesus I stay sucking at copying and pasting *%#! off of Twitter

The 30-year-old Crawford made his request three weeks ago, but with the Hawks focused on re-signing All-Star Joe Johnson and other free agents, talks have not progressed to the serious stage.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $10 million next season.

If he doesn't sign an extension, he'll become one of the league's top free agents next summer. Crawford is happy in Atlanta and hopes to stay there for the remainder of his career.

The 10-year veteran is coming off his finest season, averaging 18 points on career-best 45 percent shooting in being named the NBA's top reserve. In helping the Hawks to a 53-29 record, their best mark in 13 years, Crawford reached the playoffs for the first time in his career.

Crawford was the Hawks' second-leading scorer behind Johnson during both the regular season and the playoffs.

During their disappointing second-round series with Orlando, in which they were swept in four games, Crawford led Atlanta with 17 points per game.

Like many potential free agents, Crawford would like to sign an extension before the league's current collective bargaining agreement expires after next season.

There is widespread belief around the league that there will be a lockout next summer, and many executives agree the next collective bargaining agreement will not be as favorable toward players.

he deserves it, id like him to remain with the Hawks.

Good trade for Minny, but only because they made bad decisions with Sessions and Hollins in the first place
Paul Still Seeking Way Out Of New Orleans
Despite positive statements about his future in New Orleans following Monday's meeting with the team, Chris Paul is still seeking a way out, according to a source close to the point guard.

It at first appeared as though the Hornets had completely ended the Paul saga, but Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that isn't the case.

"The telltale thing is that Chris Paul won't comment publicly other than what was released about it," said a person familiar with Paul's strategy.

"Leon Rose didn't come out and say, 'Chris is happy in New Orleans.' If he was happy, they would've said that. ... The only way they can get close to full value is to say, 'You guys can't make trade demands.' They're orchestrating this thing to likely move him."

A number of sources indicate that Paul and his new group of power brokers at Creative Artists Agency, led by Rose, continue to pull strings behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have been looking at the Magic, Bobcats and Nets as potential trade partners.

New Orleans appears focused on trading Paul to the Eastern Conference, while Paul wants to compete for a championship.

"Basically, he doesn't think they're good enough and he's put LeBron's people around him for a reason," the person familiar with Paul's strategy said. "And he doesn't want to wait two years and be 27 years old trying to get on a championship team. He wants to do it now."

The Hornets are standing firm on not letting Paul dictate which teams he'll like to be traded to.

The Timberwolves will waive guard Delonte West, who they acquired in a trade with the Cavaliers on Monday night, according to sources.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports wrote the following on his Twitter page moments after the trade was officially completed, "Wolves will waive Delonte West, source tells Y! Sports."

Cleveland acquired Ramon Sessions, Ryan Hollins and a second round pick in 2013 from Minnesota in exchange for West and Sebastian Telfair.

@johnhollinger If they waive West, T'wolves just traded last year's two free agent signings for a No. 3 point guard. Remind me again what the plan is here? about an hour ago
Hollinger is just straight hating now
