I played Fallout 3 way more. Story was easier to follow. NV was a better game from a game play perspective..

Fallout NV is the beat fallout in the series imo. I would rank them as such: NV, 4, 3,2,1

You the homie but pull up

Yeah absolutely not. Same concept as Far Cry Primal. Taking a game design that SHOULD have guns and removing them.... Bad game experience.

Kinda excited for the launch of game pass on android tomorrow. I haven't been an xbox gamer in a while but I like the idea of being able to play AAA titles on my phone when I have some downtime or just wanna get away.

Hoping this doesn't go the way of stadia and suck at launch. It been a while since I threw some funds at Microsoft and I'm more than willing to cop this if the final product is decent.

Except the first ES was made 10 years before the first Far Cry and 22 years before FCP, but yes it’s the same concept.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about regarding this one bud. But it’s ok if the game just isn’t for you.

This is a bad take. Elder Scrolls existed multiple years before Fallout was a thing.

I enjoy both franchises but thought both these videos were interesting and make some great points I agree with.

The original Elder Scrolls team has their own studio now too and are working on a new game

Just watched the Fallout video. What's crazy is that I've only play 3, NV and 4 and I agree, something is missing from FO4. Just felt wrong to me. Might play FO1. I do have a copy of it. If anyone wants it, let me know.

As far as Fallout goes in the video, I completely agree.

I never finished it, but I truly did like New Vegas above all. I did not enjoy FO4 at all for so many reasons. It was literally a grind to get to the end just to complete. Didn’t enjoy the story or gameplay for the most part.

Now Elder Scrolls Morrowind was a game changer. I put so many hours into that damn game, the depth and storyline were crazy to me. You could legit do anything you wanted and everything had a consequence (good or bad). It was so unique and just different from anything I had played before. So many options to go through. Very different cities, NPCs, and experiences. Going into Oblivion was fantastic as well, you went from this weird alien atmosphere into a traditional English setting. It was familiar but different, loved the next step in a different way. Between the two, Morrowind was great, but the open storyline for Oblivion was tremendous. Something that got even better with Skyrim. I was engaged and wanted to know more about the history and folk lore. The problem with Skyrim is how linear it was in comparison. You can play completely open, but it's weird as it leaves quests open and just waiting to be completed. I enjoyed going through the main story line then playing everything else. Did they dumb the ES gameplay down? Yes. It doesn't change storylines or experience, it's just a different gameplay experience. I'm excited to see where it goes with ES VI, I also have ESO that I haven't put any real time into. I already know how much I will put time into that game, might want to save it for ES VI.

Damn recently got FO4. The first FO game I'll be playing.

I don't think it's bad by any means. You can definitely still get a lot of fun out of it.

One of my friends is a Fallout fan and started playing 4 a few weeks ago and loves it.

But that might work to you, a lot of people like FO4. Just because I don't (or others) doesn't mean you won't.

I had someone that worked for me who did nothing but play that (and then on to Fallout online). It's just his thing, only way to know is to play it for yourself.

Did you watch the ES video? It's long but curious what your thoughts are on that one.

Man my sister plays it nonstop. She got it on release. For your first FO game its not bad but it could have been more. It felt like they did the bare minimum and slapped on building mechanics

I did.

The narrator clearly did not enjoy Skyrim, seemed a bit hipster like point of views at various points. The overall tech advances are some of what was frowned upon.

He has great points about it being dumbed down (paraphrasing) for the masses. But I think that's a simplistic view of things. In the past Morrowind/Oblivion couldn't scale like Skyrim and any other future titles will. They had great points individually to them, but even still the advances from Morrowind to Oblivion were large and he openly talks about not enjoying quite a bit of it visually. Another example of this is when you hear him talk highly but briefly about Apocrypha. He enjoys that alien-like world Morrowind offers more so than others. Which, isn't entirely true but it's his opinion. Skyrim had a good base and did some very good things on the expansions as well. He was right about one of the expansions with the house build and children, I didn't care anything about that. Every other update was fantastic. Having another dragon borne was a very good storyline. The main storyline similarly was fun to go through along with a lot of the side quests.

He clearly didn't like how main stream it got, which to me is short sided. Any company worth their salt has a goal of making money, it's an extremely simple concept. The more popular the game, the more people it reaches, the more they can expand and grow. I can get romanticizing the games of old, but they are loved because of the lack of options. Was only a computer game, open world but had combat/interaction limitations, etc. He goes back to talk about the modifications of older games, once again he is romanticizing the games of old. Which I fully understand and can appreciate, but do it while also enjoying the current and future.

Yours?

I completely agree with all points. If you've never played FO it is a good introduction, I bet it would tickle fancy much more that way.

I think with me is I've been spoiled with Fallout NV and all the Elder Scrolls I've played. It just doesn't stack up.
