Walton is solid. I don't know about defense specifically though. He knows his role and does it well.

I get you, but those "intangibles" he has been known for he isn't doing any of those either, horrible defense, passing, shooting, etc. ButI'm still waiting on his "high basketball IQ" to kick in and thing is he is the worst player on the team now, or at least tied withMbenga

He's struggling to get himself into the offense, once you get yourself going on offense, it improves your defense in a weird way, but it works.

Well put. He's going through a slump right now. Even at that he still is impacting the game positively. Makes great plays. IMO he's far from theworst player....he's one of the more valuable ones.

Luke is a solid defender? I won't give him that much credit; he may be sound fundamentally, but all his basketball intuition suffers becausehe is an inferior athlete compared to those he guards. Yes, he's in a shooting slump and it's obviously affecting the team. If he can't space thefloor by hitting open (and WIDE open) shots, he becomes a liability. Look what happened when Sasha (and Farmar) came in and Kobe slid to the 3; the Lakerswent on some major runs. Vlad needs to get healthy.

luke is terrible this year. i would gladly play sasha at the 2 and kobe at the 3 if it means keeping luke on the bench.
he gets blocked every time he tries that turn around fade.
he makes a lot of sloppy passes.
hardly a defender.
i hope he wasn't playing for a contract last year and it's just his injuries getting to him this season.
i think he needs to start rehabbing because it shows that he's not 100%.
he's not getting lift on his jumpers and he's extra slow on the court.

luke has never been a great passer in his career

he provides no defense...he is one of our worst defenders
