How have they shown they can win at Staples?

to a warrior fan's point of view...almost winning and getting blown out in games 1 and 2 is showing that they can win at staples

All I'm saying that the Suns should feel confident they can win Game 7 if it comes down to it. It's funny how even that seems to be an anti-Laker statement.
laugh.gif
Wow, you guys are way too sensitive.
Not really that statement is just false. OKC had a close game at Staples so they should have been confident too right? Fact is Lakers haven't lost at home in the postseason which is why if it does come down to a Game 7, I don't know why the Suns would be any more confident they could win there when literally everything would be on the line, seeing as they haven't won there any this entire year.

LOL. And oh yea, Lakers get all the luck, it was so lucky that Ron fought his way to the ball and put up the shot to win the game, such luck haha and all that traveling nash was doing and BS bank shot that JRich put in wasnt. HAHA whatever, I hate the Suns and you guys are about to be as salty as the Thunder and Jazz before you. Have fun going fishin.
Let's be real.  Don't act like you guys dont' always get some lucky +%+ breaks.  Whether it's Vlade miraculously tipping the ball out RIGHT to Robert Horry with JUST enough time for him to get a shot off, or D Fish's .04 or Pau Gasol's lucky rebound putback.  It is what it is.  Thats ONE MAJOR advantage Kobe has had in his career compared to the rest.

Sac had plenty of chances to win that game but didn't.  Tim duncun falling over with shaq on him before the .04 shot was the ying to dfish's yang and if the thunder would have boxed out whole different story. your theory is ridiculous. You act like the basketball gods favor kobe.

EXACTLY...You guys had the LUCK of Tim Duncan's lucky shot NOT being the game winner.  I don't get how you guys are trying to justify D Fish's lucky shot by saying, "well since Duncan hit that shot...we were owed a lucky one too."  That's what i'm talking about though.  You guys had the LUCK that J Rich's LUCKY 3 was NOT the shot to send it to OT.
Come on man. This is ridiculous. People make their own luck. Vlade didnt miraculously tip it out, he did it on purpose to get it out of Shaq's hands and of course somebody is out there, 50-50 chance its a Laker or a Queen. D-Fish's shot followed a shot by Duncan when he didnt even look at the basket...and the Pau put back is good positioning and no boxing out, just like last night, Artest wanted it more. All this "Luck" talk is BS, seriously. But its cool I'm not saying there's no luck but there's immense amounts of hard work and dedication behind it and those are the people who deserve the luck behind it. There are games everyday that plays happen because players try harder and want more and if you want to look at it as luck then so be it.

I agree with you that J Rich should've boxed out.  That was more hard work on Artest's part but the Gasol putback, the ball practically went right to his side.  That Vlade tip to Horry was straight luck.  Come on now.  The ball tipped so good to him, it was like a perfect bounce pass you get when you practice in the gym where he even got to step in to shoot it.

laugh.gif
some of your posts are starting to sound like XpotlafsjbasfljkbasLebronStan's one where he said Lebrons 6 would be championships > kobe's 4.
you're really going to bring luck into this as a way to discredit some of kobe's accomplishments (even thouhgh you said it's not your intention)?
laugh.gif
cmon now. youre reaching way too hard.

last I checked luck is a part of sports. It doesn't take anything away from a win. If there was no bad luck or good luck there wouldnt be many winners and losers

I'll take those lucky shots/bounces/passes/freethrows/putbacks/dunks/tips/off-theheadshots/tippytoes/fingertips/deflections/off-thebackboard

As long as it's legal, and gets you a W, it should matter.

All this talk of luck reminds me of something one of the greatest football players OF ALL TIME said when told by reporters that an opponent said he was lucky.

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." -Jerry Rice

--The Horry shot. The ball bouncing his way: luck. Him knocking down that jumper as time expired. Not luck. He'll sink that 9 out of 10 in that situation.

Suns guard Goran Dragic had never even met countrymanSasha Vujacic of the Lakers until they faced off in a NBA game lastseason but senses discord.

"We have something between us going, rivalry or something," Dragic said. "Every game, he pressures me sohard and I try to penetrate. I would say it is personal. I don't knowwhy but maybe because last year we were together on the national teamand they didn't pick him to be on the 12-player (roster for EuropeanChampionship). I don't care if it's personal. I just know I want to winthe game against LA. If he's going to play like that, I just have toadjust."

Sasha's such a damn female.

Actually, that's disrespectful to chicks like Taurasi, Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie, Swoopes, Cynthia Cooper, Laila Ali, the Williams sisters, etc.

I've always thought he was a little crybaby mama's boy type.
laugh.gif

On the topic of international play, though, I think Sasha would be a BEAST.

Too bad he didn't he didn't even make the team to prove me right or wrong.

If I were a team trying to sign him whenever his current contract is up, I would so use that against his little whiny self.
- 'I am a pesky 3-pt specialist, one of the best in the league.'
- 'One of the best in the league? You're not even one of the 12 best in your whole entire country.'

I think Sasha unfortunately still has 1 year left on his current contract.

Sasha is the definition (FOR ME, I'm sure a lot of you guys won't agree) of a player who you love because he's on your team, but would absolutely despise if he was on any other team. I've always loved the way Sasha went after everything, yes he's a moron and picks up fouls 3000 ft away from the hoop, yes sometimes he'll take ill advised jump shots when he thinks he's feeling it, but I have never questioned his passion for the game. Unlike say Farmar who goes through the motions of the game, Sasha is always giving 100 percent, and that is the best he can do. All I hope is he can continue to play hard and give Dragic fits, hopefully he'll pick up some confidence and it will carry into the next series (if we win this one), he'll most likely be put in their to frustrate Allen.

Out partying ?

Nope.

Right back in the gym:

After finishing up some post-game interviews, Ron rolled over to a gym right near the Staples Center around 10:30 PM PST -- and banged out a couple of sets of legs and abs.

I agree with you that Sasha is a B, but please don't ever mention that many WNBA players in one thread ever again.

I read somewhere on page 17 here in this thread that "the Lakers played their best and beat us by luck"

FYI, Lakers shot only 41% from the field and yet again werent getting calls (Suns had more FTs then them even though Lakers were driving inside all day)

Whatever. Lets let the games do the talking. I think Lakers will close it out game 7, hope im wrong it its only Saturday.

He's from Queensbridge, I already knew.

I @#$%^& love it when people come in and wanna talk about LUCK and the Lakers getting things done.

LUCK is 30 (and a game away from 31) trips to the finals in 63 years.

LUCK only happens for the Lakers, like when Robert Horry had a similar shot in 03, was dead on straight, going thru, and rimmed in and out, costing us a shot at 4 titles in a row.  Or Lucky how Ralph Sampson shot the ball backwards and made it in.  Or LUCK that Magic and Scott BOTH go down in the finals vs Detroit after we had swept the first 3 rounds going for a 3 peat.
Or Luck how Magic was forced to retire at just 31 when we could have kept competing for titles.  Lucky was the 1 rebound away from eliminating this Suns team in 2006 when it was Kobe and Odom and 10 bums playing.  Luck was on our side when Karl Malone injured his knee for the first time in his career the very year we needed him to guard Sheed in the 04 finals.

Moral of the story is, for all the good luck we've had, the bad luck has cost us too.  And the fact of the matter is, we are ALWAYS in the mix, and in the hunt for an NBA championship.  And LUCK has nothing to do with any of it.  You make you're own luck.  You prepare the absolute best you can and hope for the best.  Maybe if JRich wasn't sore from throwing his fist pumps in the air after his LUCKY bank in shot, he would boxed his man out better and the story would be different.  But that's not how it happened.

So go on, tell us more about our LUCKY existence, it's extremely amusing to me.
