www.onlygold.com is a good place to buy gold. Also, google "Perth Mint" which is a great way to buy and store gold.

joegolfdad- GG and ABX are both good gold stocks, but I suggest definitely having some actual bullion too because even though youre buying gold stocks, yourprofits are in dollars, whose purchasing power is weakening by the day.

and Dow will bottom around 4k in my opinion (4k in today's dollars, that is). Chinese govt is goign to lose credibilty in 2009, watch for a need for USDdevaluation within the next two years. all the while gold will SURGE.

Yeah my mom bought a a lot gold years back and I believe it was 8 dollars per gram or so and now it's 32 per gram. Also doesn't the price increase bykt.?

if you can get gold under $1000/oz, you're getting a BARGAIN. gold may go down in the next few months by a small amount as more deleveraging occurs if themarket goes down to its novemeber lows like i'm expecting, but even if it goes down a little, it won't be below $830 or so. $2k next year, $10k within5 years.

gotta wait for next week... this week will be no volume and no meaningful movement. the market is acting exactly how i said it would, broke the rising wedgeand is now trading sideways on low volume below the trendline. a break of 850 will trigger the selling.

ETF's and investing in places such as Brazil and the Middle East FTW! I have been seeing constant gains for years now. Shifted out of a lot of the U.Sfocused stocks in '05-'06 before this mess.

If you haven't been up on gold,

yeah im sure youve made a ton of money investing in emerging market ETFs which are COLLAPSING worse than america's economy. guess who finances brazil andmiddle east's economies? AMERICAN CONSUMERS. oil is under 40/barrel. there is no way you didn't incur HUGE losses this year if you had money inemerging market ETFs. this "mess" isn't an american one, it's a global one, it's the mess of fiat currency.

gold is not always a good long term investment- only in inflationary environments.

Actually no, my portfolio is doing great. Granted, I'm not seeing the returns of a few years ago, but I haven't taken losses overall.

there are no emerging market/brazil/middle east ETFs up on the year. in fact, they're all down huge. iShares MSCI Brazil Index (EWZ) is DOWN 60%. SPDRS&P Emerging Middle East & Africa (GAF) is DOWN 44%. smh.
