OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET AND ECONOMY THREAD VOL. A NEW CHAPTER

I'm having great success with this portolio:

40% QLD (2x leveraged Nasdaq)
30% IAU (Gold)
30% BND (Bond)

Vastly outperforms S&P with lower drawdowns. In theory, 2x nasdaq gives you killer gains during good times, and in bad times the other 60% of the portfolio should step in and carry the weight. Historically this has worked out, but now It is kind of scary with all 3 components at record highs at the same time. What do you guys think ?
Is there a bad decay with QLD if there’s sideways action or chop?

Current holdings..

OSTK may announce closing offering tomorrow. Might see a rocket love up.

What’s going on with GAN today? I went all in on it in my ROTH a month ago and it’s pretty much gone down every day since then. It was getting too painful to watch every day so I just an alert to when I would be even. Haven’t even checked my stocks in like a week but got the alert text today and see it’s up 16%

TD also has ThinkOrSwim, which is a ****ing amazing, best in class program for research and trading. The depth of information is priceless and worth the switch from Robinhood alone.

As a beginner myself, I quickly got off RH and switched over to TD solely from this thread, so thanks to y’all!

but can’t front, RH is very user friendly and easy to navigate especially for us rookies. I’ve been using TOS on mobile which has been fine but when I get on the computer, it gets overwhelming

is there any quick tutorials on how to navigate thru TOS? I want to be able to fully utilize all the tools it has to offer. Should prob start with TD’s website.

I learned by using the tutorials on the desktop version of ToS. Some things arent really self explanatory, but the basics should get you through. Also, I'm sure youtube has good videos for anything to do with ToS. I havent checked, just a thought that popped into mind.

Im probably not even using tos correctly on the desktop :lol it’s a little clunky at times but the products you have at your disposal there are top notch. You can literally get an order in lightning fast which is clutch.

ACB back like becky blah blah blah... I dont know yall terminology like that, lol, but glad I didnt pull out... yet.

I’m never touching weed stocks again. Good luck.

Still think ROCK is the best stock with a little cannabis industry exposure.

Only way I'm doing options now is long LEAPS.

Got my feet wet with rather small positions to learn options (probably still lost a couple grand in the last few weeks...lol)

But this life ain't for me!

I still have a few short term positions that expire 09/18. After that, taking a break from this nonsense.

No reason to lose a couple of grand in options man. Rookie move. Zero size until you see consistency on a regular basis. One or two contracts and never let it go to 0. Have a stop.

BOXL announcing earnings today or tomorrow before market open? Saw a 4%+ move this PM but nothing about numbers. Anything I look for on their website hits me with an error page... 8o

Well im sitting on 150 shares so let's see this game turn out good for the longs! :nerd:

imho, BOXL will begin its ascent mid-Fall...once schools grand open/grand close. Most if not all Chromebooks for schools have Mimio preloaded as it is also supported by MSFT & Google. Along with official Samsung Partnership...BOXL's Mimio is Samsung's foundation for their EDU-division...Buyout potential always looms.

I’ve been looking at this one on and off. FIVN as well. Both are very quietly just making solid moves. Any particular reason why you think highly of FVRR?
$ADBE makes the software. $FVRR sells the content made on $ADBE.

Levi’s didn’t start the gold rush, but many gold miner’s wore Levi’s. Fiverr didn’t start online content & design, but many talented artists are on Fiverr.
